H2otool - H20 Archive Archiver/Extraction Utility (Modding BR)

Recommended Posts

It's a command line tool, you need to run it in CMD:

Windows XP:

Start -> Run -> Type in "cmd" press enter and drag and drop the h2otool.exe into the CMD prompt window.

Windows Vista

Start -> In search box type in "cmd" and press enter. Now type in the location of the h2otool.exe into the command prompt window.

Any questions?

Is it at all possible, if someone could write a tutorial or something similar to explain how to modify games? Because I've always been dying to try this, and modifying Battle Realms would be a dream come true to be honest.

Also I believe, if there was some way to teach people clearly how to modify the game or games in general, having many people modify the game, coming up with a huge array of ideas is better than the only the few people that know how to modify games.

Much Appreciated

It's not too hard. I finally figured out how this thingy works.

As Zymeth said you need to open the cmd prompt. And there you write what he quoted:

Usage : h2otool <command> [archive] [directory]

BUT instead of "h2otool" you type (or drag&drop) the directory where you put it in.

After that you type one of the commands:

To display info about an archive type:

h2otool info <archive>

To list the contents of an archive type:

h2otool list <archive>

To extract the contents of an archive type:

h2otool extract <archive> <target directory>

To build an archive from the contents of a directory type:

h2otool build <archive> <source directory>

Instead of archive you type (or drag&drop) the directory of the .h2o archive u want to work with.

And finally if you use "extract" or "build" you type (or...well i think you know now :P ) the path of your target directory.

Et voilà...
