Computer 588 #1 Posted November 23, 2012 After playing halfway through a stage on Texas Dustbowl 24/7 (69.162.126.141:27015), I noticed that we suddenly had 7 engineers on our team. I thought there was a limit of 4 players per class, but apparently I was wrong. If this has never been enforced before, could we change that? I think it's a little redundant to be able to have a team full of demos or engineers. Don't you?
- Mike - 2,728 #2 Posted November 23, 2012 As usual going away from default kind of stops a server from being on the quick play feature, so this probably won't be implemented. However, it would be cool if you could vote on that feature to be turned on.
Harlequin 2,975 #3 Posted November 23, 2012 I don't support this. I see the point in not going spy if there are already 2 good spys in my team but i won't step back for 4 useless cnd camping spys.
No longer a Sexy King:^) 5,592 #4 Posted November 23, 2012 No. Nope. Never. Dustbowl + 32 huntsman snipers = epic, yes, it happened lots of times and it was epic.
Nano 7,892 #5 Posted November 23, 2012 I am not a fan of class caps. It's a big imposition and there are many more people who get mad at not being able to play their class of choice, than get mad that there are too many of a certain class. The voting option could be a midway point, but I'm not in favor of it either.
+Dr. Obvious 14,606 #6 Posted November 23, 2012 What they said. Plus, it would mean the classes are given out on a "first come first serve" basis. Which means, if you have 3 or so morons idling in your spawn, you can't play a much needed class.
EggShell 1,102 #7 Posted November 23, 2012 Yeah, I'd hate to see every Lotus server go this way for all the reasons already hashed out above. But would there be no opportunity for a couple of servers to do it for people who were looking for at least a slightly more balanced (and in theory, competitive... in theory....) game? Ollie 56 #8 Posted November 23, 2012 I do agree with this to an extent, I've had my fair share of not able to proceed due the large amount of snipers on 2Fort (Just an example). But on the other hand, I really did thoroughly enjoy a team of 9-10 heavies shouting spy and rolling players with frying pans. The vote feature would be ideal, but then again there is the issue with players afk and not doing their class as intended. But just got to live with it. I would pout my vote for class limitations on the 2fort, but keep the Payload servers and such as normal. My 2 cents anyway.
Harlequin 2,975 #9 Posted November 23, 2012 I think there is a really good reason in class caps in Comp. Games, but pubbing is all about fun, and not taking things too serious. I mean... where would be MY fun? For Instance: you join a server, enemy team has 3 medics. 30 Minutes laters there are 0 Medics but 5 pyros. WIN
- Oli - 1,121 #10 Posted November 23, 2012 No. Nope. Never. Dustbowl + 32 huntsman snipers = epic, yes, it happened lots of times and it was epic. Dustbowl + 1 Million Grenades and a thousand stickybombs, it happens ALL THE TIME - Not epic for a medic trying to heal you
