I though I would try the old TFC again, so I installed it yesterday. I joined a game and apparently, Direct 3D doesnt work on 1920x1200 and my MAX FPS is like 72 and its extremely choppy. This is really weird since im getting 200 FPS on TF2. I wonder what is the cause of the low frames per second and the choppiness.

Vista, perhaps? TFC is pretty old, and I remember having problems with the original HL and the 2 expansions when I played them on Vista.

That might be your problem then. Did you Google it/check the Steam forums yet?

I have no issues with TFC running at 1920x1200 on Vista x64. I'm only getting 60 FPS (basically the same, if not higher, than what I get in TF2), but I'm not experiencing any lag or stuttering whatsoever.

Shit it's been like a decade but if I remember correctly Gabe put a default fps_max of 72. I think the engine max is 99. I think you just type fps_max 99 in the console.
