So I played my first game of TF2 dodge ball yesterday morning, and I have to say that it's more fun than I expected.

Blasting multiple rockets (and nukes) across the map - homing in on the enemy team - while trying to stay in one piece can get pretty difficult at times. This is especially true for rockets that have been air-blasted a few times already as their speed dramatically increases.

In fact, if I hadn't already bought TF2, I'd probably buy it just to play dodge ball.

That's why I'm proposing a dodgeball server to be added to the Lotus lineup.

I'm sure it'll draw more than a crowd. In my time spent on another dodge ball server (a few hours of playing), I saw at least four people that frequented US Stocks 1 & 2. Much to my surprise, they had been to this dodge ball server many times before.

Why not provide a place for these and other Lotus patrons to have some fun without having to join unfamiliar servers and communities?

I think it would be a fantastic addition to Lotus' already great server lineup.

If you can convince Mana to grab the dodgeball files, go ahead. Or, grab them yourself, give them to Mana, and watch Mana claim to have gotten them himself. Anyway, this has sorta-kinda been proposed already. It didn't get very far without a lot of motivation, so unless you're effectively willing to get the files yourself, you're Sierra Oscar Lima.

Hey now I used to a coder for another game, so I'm not that nub.

But let me go research some things.

Edit: It appears the dodgeball plugin was privately coded by one, Voogru, and isn't liekly to be released to the public. Searching for alternatives.

Speed dodgeball is fun in small numbers when you have a higher chance of actually getting the rocket, but once that server is full, its just wandering aimlessly until you get hit out of nowhere by mach 3 exploding death.

Holy Magikarp that was awesome! We do need a commentator for Dodgeball.

Random Mohawk and OobyDoob are the commentators, and they rock.

If you catch a guy named Paul (me) then most likely all the regulars are there.

Oh believe me, I know all about speed dodgeball. It's my mode of preference. However, my search resulted in epic fail. Seems like someone's gonna have to make the mod from scratch. I'll help if anyone wants to try.
