Tf2 Crash Exploit | August 2008

Gabe & Co are awesome as always, by now... making a Cvar into a cheat should come as a function of the engine via console command. I lost count as to the amount of server crashing client executable cvars now... and who knows how many more are still out in the wild.

Anyway. the cvar is "_resetgamestats" which crashes the server within second.

The fix is:

EDIT:

A new optional update for Team Fortress 2 has been released. Please run

hldsupdatetool to receive it. The specific changes include:

- Fixed _resetgamestats command causing server crash.

- Fixed clients earning achievements when a player they've recently

damaged suicides
