So I happened to find this neat game called Minecraft. Its still in its alpha stages but its got some nice quality's. Iv been playing it quite a bit and I'm probably addicted.

There are a few game modes open for free.

you can build your own fort/mine/house/what ever. Iv seen some awesome stuff in the multiplayer version however the servers are full of griefers because you can break other peoples stuff. The survival mode requires you fight off some monsters while you build your dream fort and its VERY hard. These little green fuckers can spawn in your base and explode and some of the enemy NPCs are near intangible if they back you in a corner and start humping you. There are a lot of issues with balance and it took me a few min to figure out how defend myself (tab). The game screams potential though.

Its so simple. You can dig straight down and make a bunker or build a castle in the sky. So stop reading this shit and go try it.

The preorder/current dev build costs money to play but has crafting and varies the game play a bit more. Also you can save your game if you pay.
