Spectators And Ghosting

We all know that ghosting is a part of the game but it really gets too far when certain individuals buy/place a second computer next to them just to have another account sit in spectator just so they can ghost.

Suggestions:

• In order to limit the prevalence of ghosting I recommend a time-limit on spectating and or limit on the number of spectators.
• When you die, you can only spectate your own team in first person.

I strongly agree. For spectators, there should be maybe 10 minutes and auto-kick. I am (personally) strongly against ghosting because people accuse me all the time.... i was wanting to sugguest point №2 for a long time already and i wish they would implement it. Sure its pub server, and usually №2 is meant for skrim, and tournament... but the amount of ghosting that i see on the server is just shameful... its just obvious. This would also be good to pick out hackers easier since they cant put excuse about ghosting.

+1 for me. Its retarded to see 6+ spectators at any moment. I say at least 10 minutes before autokick. And first and third person only spectating for players.

not only +1 .....+10. Players can spec after they die their OWN team only but Spectators CANT, AND they will get autokicked after 10 minutes.

Spec is there for taking a break......BUT one downside. u cant take demos anymore

I agree with the 10 min. spectator limit, this would solve alot of issues with some of the paranoid players out there..(soad).. since beast exploited it! However it is very simple to see who is ghosting in the servers, by going to the lotus server page and looking at the map! All people in the lotus servers show up on this map, and If ghosting, they will be binded together on the map. As for the demo issue, I don't see a problem with the 10 minute spec then kick mod in the server config. If someone is hacking in any way shape or form, then 10 minutes in spec is more than enough time to get a video. yall have a nice day!

You can always fake your ip/location. Nearly everyone is aware of the fact that you and beast (former friends irl) used the same methods to get a high rank.

Knusper made a good point about the timeout that may limit demo-taking but P4 was right, 10 minutes should be enough to catch somebody.

Mr. beast has filled your tiny little mindless head with lies,and you have bought into everything he has said. To date, 2 members of the former clan known as 2.0KDR which you were a part of, has been banned from all lotus servers,do to hacking or ghosting. Lets forget the past and move on with the future and quit using this forum and the server as a means too throws stones, because its really quite old, and its getting you no where....this is my last post on this topic..sorry to flood the forum with such rubbish!

You cannot fake your IP.

Easily..... buy a vps, install openvpn server, and connect and your ip will be the same as your vps. Sure you need to have some knowledge, but can easily be done. Not trying to bashing or anytyhing, but just saying can be done.

On-Topic...Kinda: Speaking of spectating...This server really needs hltv so I can prove once and for all the real hackers. Very little people tend to believe me, usually the smart people do. A lot of people don't seem to understand that it is very difficult to pick up on new aimbots only thru spectator mode. They are EASILY spotted via hltv. I usually don't call these people out unless it becomes extreme or the player themselves start talking trash to other players about how great they are. Personally I enjoy the challenge but when these people show unsportsmen-like qualities by calling other players names or spraying and teabagging bodies, they gotta go. I would love to rub a nice provable demo in their face recorded in hltv.

@soad: Yes as I recall Mana is the only person who can and will do stuff like this. However, I feel like he neglects the CSS servers compared to the TF2 servers. The only time he made alot of improvements to the servers were the times he use to come on and actually play CSS.
