Since the hatless update voice communication on servers with "sv_use_steam_voice 1" has been broken for many players D: I ask that the lotus servers set "sv_use_steam_voice 0" so that voice communication will again work for these players and me! I don't know if this is an issue with all lotus servers, but at least with Goldrush 24/7 East Coast it is.

If others complain then perhaps. In the meantime, improved voice codec will stay in use.

I understand, but I think that based on the fact there are numerous people experiencing the issue on the tf2 forums it's fair to reason I'm not the only one on lotus servers affected. What is superior about the new codec? The old one worked well for years in my opinion.

Hey, I'm a regular on 24/7 goldrush. This affects me too. I verified sv_use_steam_voice 0 would resolve my mic issues using the method described in the steam forums link from yogurt. Please revert to the old setting as [Liberty] Pain dies a lot because I don't have a mic and that makes me sad D:

For now I have reverted the change. But there is supposed to be a big TF2 update coming out today.

Perhaps it will fix your issue.

EDIT:

Now getting complaints of static/bad quality mic. Will probably go back to steam voice soon.
