Commercials On Server

Recommended Posts

Admin, I have been away for a couple of weeks and joined the server today and ran into some problems. The screen when you connects runs what looks to be a flash based commercial. The problem is if you just click ok real quick it still plays the sound in the background and causes the game to be somewhat laggy. Also now due to what seems to be the commercial also you don't get the menu automatically to join a team. You have to hit the team change bind key you use to select what team you want to be one. Its really a pain. I now wait until the commercial loads up and starts playing and then pause it and then close it and my game does not feel laggy. I confirmed with a few others in game and they are having the same problem. Can you please disable this so we can get the server running right again? Thanks!!

That's not intended and it's a bug.

The ads stop playing once you pick a team. Or so it is on all of our other servers.

I fixed this issue now.

All, I have a problem when the flash video loads. It crashes dod source. The only work around I have is to keep hitting enter as soon as I get in, before the video loads. The problem with that is I have to keep on my toes to ensure Im pressing enter before each map change otherwise, crash. Sometimes the crash is so bad, i have to power off the computer because I can't get back to my desktop. I have the latest version of plash player and i can't be the only one experiencing this problem.
