Ping Limits On Your Servers Needed

Playing on 24/7Dus2 and 24/7Office occasionally, and I can clearly see an issue with ping. You got 2-6 players with ping over 250 on there constantly, and they are always top scoring players. Not out of skill, not even luck, their ping is saving them. They see players first on corners and warp around, being hard to hit. Azeotrope is a prime example, nice guy but 350 ping? He then said he didn't live near the server, so I told him to filter the server list by latency. He didn't know what that is, so here I am.

You need to kick players over 200 ping, that crap is nuts. The issue is compounded when 5 or 6 players got 200+ ping, then things get nuts as in Mr. Goodbar factory nuts. Getting shot behind cover 2 seconds later, warping, issues with cabinets when you get near them. It ruins gameplay and gets quite annoying. Almost every proper server will kick anyone over 150 ping, and ban them if they keep coming on with a crap ping. If you live far away, get on a server with lower latency. If you got porn torrents going, stop them or don't play. That's how it's supposed to be.

According to Valve the source engine is optimized for upto 300 ms latency.

Regardless of that, ping limit won't be implemented. It's better to have a high ping player filling up the server in the morning than a bot.

Also there is votekick, so if there's enough people on the server who find a high ping player a problem. It will pass.
