Chicago Dustbowl Still At 24 Player

Recommended Posts

I hate to come across as impatient, or ungrateful for the work you put into these servers.

But, any update about when (or if) Chicago Dustbowl is going to go back to 32 player?

It's 1 of 2 (i think) servers I have donor priveledges on, and I would really like to take advantage of that, the autobalance immunity and reserved slot especially.

Obviously the 24 player limit is not hindering my ability to use donor priveledges. Rather, the chicago server used to draw, imo, some of the more skilled players which is why I enjoyed playing (and paying) there. Those players now play on other servers.

If it's not coming back to full player count, what can I do about shifting my donor status to another server?

Thanks.

Later this week I'll switch it back to see how well it does as a 32 player server.

For now we need it as a 24 player server so it builds up a community on the new ip. Once I change it to 32 players it won't be part of the "start playing" pool of servers. Because valve hates servers with 24+ players.

Ah, I have been playing on the 24/7 Dustbowl x24 a lot lately and have been loving it. Are you talking about this server or the other Dustbowl at 184.154.170.244:27015? Because I really enjoy 24 slots. ;)

The 32 player Chicago Dustbowl server was what drew me to Lotus servers in the first place and I used to only play there. Now instead of playing on the Chicago 24 server, I split my time between the other 32 player Dustbowl servers, but I have been patiently waiting for Chicago to return. I hope once Chicago goes back to 32 players it'll bring back the same crowd or "regulars" that Cazzo mentioned that made playing on the server extremely enjoyable. I believe there are several other players who share the same thoughts.

It will become 32 players later tonight.

Agreed. Tired of playing in Dustbowl West Coast aka noob server. Chicago has the most competitive crowd.

Way 2ez.

Chicago is pretty much a ghost town now. Not sure if it's even going up to 32 players like it's supposed to but the disappearance of the Chicago server for that period of time has basically killed it off. Shame, was such a good group of players we had on there.

If by competitive you mean stacking teams and spawn camping red instead of capturing the final point. Yea this server is for the pro crowd.

Not sure why you're mentioning stacking. Of all the communities I've ever played on, stacking was definitely not a big problem on chicago because so many decent players played there.

Most people just use quickplay now and quickplay only uses 24 player servers.

As you see bringing it back to 32 players has had a very bad effect on it.

I'll keep it like this for now, but if it doesn't change expect it to be back to 24 players and hopefully full again.

Valve is very much against servers with slot counts higher than 24 players. And competing with that is pretty hard. Though there are workarounds... but that could make them angry.

Drunken F00l made Valve extremely angry, more than once. And they hired him. :/ JOB OPPORTUNITY MANA!!!
