Hl2.exe Has Stopped Working => Only On Lotus Servers

Hi all,

I have the following problem: when I start playing on one of the lotus servers, It won't take long before I get this message:

hl2.exe has stopped working.

So I started troubleshooting.

And I really tried everything. (Ultimately I reinstalled windows 7 and Team Fortress, that is how desperate I was...)

But suddenly I was aware of the fact that I was only playing on the lotus servers. So I thought, let's try another server.

Don't ask me why, but I'm not facing any problem on another server while playing.

So my first question is: did something changed recently? I'm having problems since saturday afternoon.

My second question is: what can I do about it? I can play tf2 on other servers, but I like the lotus servers very much.

I hope someone can help me out.

At what point does it happen? Or is it completely random?

Maybe something happens in game right before you crash?

Same problem here started 2-3 day's ago and allways after give or take 1-2 min. ingame.

Its not happening when you stay out of the graphic mode (chose class and team can run for 30 mins.... )

I might add that Athena is a donator like me. (+ my brother phoned me with the same problem on Lotus servers)

Sometimes after 10 restarts it works fine untill mapchange then game chokes and promt the hl2.exe has stopped working.

Since Athena is my wife we live in the same place.

Just troubleshooting...

Athena has ATI/AMD i have NVidia btw its only on Lotus servers.

Last night we started playing on GTFO servers and others with no problem to find....

this has actually been happening for like 2-3 months, if not longer.

Never had this problem before I donate every 3 months i think for 3 months and I never had problems before.

but if this problem keeps happening I will probably be force to play on other servers without my friends...

I tested Athena her PC and I could not play for more then 2 min when on the server.

Il test tonight on the UK servers and US based to see if there is any diff.

This shows in the Event Viewer same fault code every time

I now played on UK servers for 2 hours with mapchanges together with athena with no problems .... is it fixed ???

Did anyone do something ?

Interesting. Appears the issue goes back quite a few years with other people in the community and appears to have something to do with either 64bit OS or a conflict between your video drivers and your OS.

One of the suggestions you could try would be to lower your desktop resolution to match the in game resolution you play at. Unfortunately because there are so many factors that can cause this fault (conflict between game service and OS, a fault in the OS its self, a glitch in your RAM etc) it is extremely difficult to pinpoint exactly. Wish i had a better answer.

No, nothing has been changed.

Odd.

However, there is an update coming this Wednesday. Perhaps it will help with this issue (if there is still an issue?).
