Packet Loss On The Texas Control Point Server.

Recommended Posts

Both of those servers are on the same network. I don't really see why one of them would be doing that.

I joined it myself and didn't get any packet loss.

What rates are you using?

Try:

rate 60000

cl_cmdrate 67

cl_updaterate 67

<p>I tried your rates but they didn't help. I also tried lowering the rates to see if the occasinal 1 packet loss would go away but that didn't work either. I went through the list of Lotus servers and tested with your rates and found that I do get the occasional 1 packet loss on some Texas servers but not on others. These are all Lotus servers:

dustbowl/badwater Texas = No packet loss.

badwater/goldrush Texas = No packet loss.

Payload stocks Texas = No packet loss.

24/7 Badwater texas = No packet loss.

Stock maps #5 Texas = No packet loss.

24/7 harvest Texas = Packet loss.

Control points Texas = Packet loss.

Stock maps #6 Texas = Packet loss.

Capture the flag Texas = Packet loss.

Could this be an ISP problem?

I'm not seeing any packet loss. And all those servers are on the same network in the same physical location.

I can only assume that your ISP is (for no good reason) routing certain IPs through a different network which is inferior.

Post some traceroutes for a couple of the servers where you have no packet loss and for those that you do. This will let us see if they are routed differently.
