_ZERO 2 #1 Posted May 22, 2012 I know I'm going to get blasted for saying this, but I don't care, I'm just asking for an explanation. I imagine I won't get one, but I'll ask anyway. When playing on the Office server, it seems that the registry just absolutely fails sometimes, the proof is in the fact that when you knife someone, no matter how many times you hit them, in console it always comes up as 1 hit. I've stood and left clicked against afkers for about 10 hits till they die, then I check console, and it says "110 in 1 hit" or whatever. What I'm simply asking is, why the hell does it only say 1 hit. There must be an explanation for this. I'm always hearing people complaining about the registry on the servers, and I myself often send a load of bullets into another player who is right in front of me, only to get cut down by them. I check console, it says I did not even hit them. I even see spots of blood appear on their bodies as I'm firing into them and somehow I end up dead. Can someone just explain why this happens. And I'd like a better answer than just "your connection sucks" or "get better noob". Clearly there is an issue with the registry when the point I made about knifing is present. Any other server I play on, it says exactly how many hits you gave to a person with the knife, be it 10, 1, 4, whatever. Only on Lotus servers do I find it says 1 hit no matter how many I actually gave. And I'll provide a demo if you absolutely must see one, in case you think I'm a liar or a noob... I imagine I'll get asked for a demo.
Willerms 1,794 #2 Posted May 22, 2012 You shouldn't bash yourself so much. I have noticed this too but it hasn't impacted myself all that much
Mana 3,867 #3 Posted May 22, 2012 People complain about CS:S hit registry all the, everywhere. My signature is a quote from the CS:S steam forums. Very relevant. Different people have different rate settings, different connections, different distance to the servers and so on. The servers maintain the highest FPS as average so it would not appear to be performance issues.
_ZERO 2 #4 Posted June 6, 2012 That didn't answer the part about why knifing hits only register as 1 every time on your servers. I never said nobody else ever complains about it, but I never see it so much as I do here.
