khrispants 2 #26 Posted December 9, 2013 Yes. For now we'll only have stats on the 32 player servers. Are there any plans to extend this to the non-32 player servers?
Mana 3,867 #27 Posted December 9, 2013 Are there any plans to extend this to the non-32 player servers? Not at the moment. The amount of money it costs to have stats on all servers is better used to pay for the actual servers. There is no free alternative that we could host ourselves either. Even though we do have the hardware if there was such a thing. (Free one likes HLStatsX:CE can not handle all of our servers)

khrispants 2 #29 Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) I see in the point notifications that Engineers only lose points when they destroy their own buildings vs when they're destroyed by an enemy player. Is this intended? It seems like you can run up your points by spamming and replacing minis in spots where enemy players can take them down easily. There is nothing stopping you from doing that as far as I know. There are a few ways to "cheat" the stats with legit gameplay, but at the end of the day what's the point in having stats on yourself if they: A. Don't mean anything to you because they are based on a different playstyle B. To get to the point where you'd even be on the top 100 would still be 10+ hours (of playtime, not setup/join) of play - and that's a conservative estimate. How many hours do you really want to spend putting down stupid minis over and over again? At some point most people would get bored and go back to actually playing I would think. Legitimate gameplay by good players will also still get more points, meaning you'd never see yourself in top 50 (page 1) or top 10 anyway.

If an enemy kills your sentry then at least it was somewhat useful. Compared to destroying your own sentries after building. As such there is a reward for one but not the other. I get what both of you are saying but the point I'm trying to make is that the value of this action does not encourage better play from a reward perspective. Looking at the Actions list (http://stats.lotusclan.com/actions/tf) and sorting by Skill Bonus, you see that building a Mini yields as many points as a Domination, Point Cap, Mega Kill (7 kills), etc. all of which require play that is more than "somewhat useful" to the team. Another comparison is a Mini + Kill Assist = 7 points which is equivalent to an Ultra Kill (11 kills). Even if you're not purposely spamming Minis aimlessly, the reward to effort ratio seems too imbalanced. I would propose either including a penalty for losing your Mini (something like -4 so you yield 1 point max if you don't kill anyone) or lowering the Skill Bonus. Nano 7,892 #33 Posted December 19, 2013 I think your suggestion is a good one. compared to other actions it is unfair.
