Mana 3,867 #1 Posted February 4, 2008 I have to send out my current motherboard (680i) to do the EVGA step up to the 780i. Which means I will not have my PC for anywhere between a week to two weeks. Sucks. The PC which I will have is going to be some old Pentium 4 2.4GHZ that I found somewhere (hell knows where). It only has built in video, built in video from half a century ago no doubt and its AGP. So I can't put my current video card in there. I tried running Counter-Strike: Source on it once... On lowest settings in DX7 mode it ran at about 10FPS. So unless I am playing at a friend's house or elsewhere... I will not be on much for the next week or so. My parents PC would good, only it's power supply can't handle my video card and I sure as hell don't have a power supply that would fit in it either. Hell I don't even know if this PC still works... Worst case scenario I will install Linux on my PS3 and use that as a PC. Which will definitely no TF2 due to the fact that it's Cell Linux. Yeah so this will be fun :/. I will, however check the forums every day still . Have fun killing people on our server, now I must rip out the motherboard from this PC and attempt to stuff in that old old motherboard into my awesome case. Mhh do I even have ram for it? :S Craptastic, why can't EVGA do cross shipping?!

DarkClaw 0 #3 Posted February 4, 2008 That sucks. This won't be as much fun without you on... ah well, hope you can fix up that PC of yours.
Dovi 3 #4 Posted February 4, 2008 Wish your PS3 dies so you have nothing and experience that once in a while, but heh you still have your parents PC for everything besides a few games... Complaining whore.
Bane 0 #5 Posted February 4, 2008 The last time I sent in my PC for upgrading the only I found in my dusty cavern was an ancient 489 lol Pentium wasn't even invented yet! I used it to type up some work and realised none of it's port worked so I can transfer the work to my PC when I got it back for printing, also it only had floppy disks, no CDs, no hard disk.... I never felt like 30 years old was old until that day lol
Mana 3,867 #6 Posted February 5, 2008 Good news! I was able to install All the video codecs for Cell Linux as well as Flash and what not. So for the time being I gave my 22inch monitor and the PS3 to my parents and took their Dual Core 3.0GHZ AMD PC with 2 gigs ram. I was able to put in my old 500 Watt Power Supply in there as well. And stick in an 8800 GTS in there. Hah So providing the power supply holds, which it really should. I should be able to join you all in TF2 soon as I can get everything set up fully! And then in a week or two I can get back to Sli on my new 780i!
