Battle Realms 1.59.5 Released, Available Now!

We’re continuing to squash technical bugs and improving support for more graphic cards, resolution settings, and other under-the-hood fixes. Keep the feedback coming, we appreciate each and every one, and we’ll keep doing our best to keep improving Battle Realms Zen Edition. Let’s dive straight in on what’s in this patch!

Technical

• We’ve improved how the game is detecting GPUs and should improve texture handling across different configurations.

• Improved support for Proton/Wine, for those of you running on Linux.

• Added support for ultrawide and expanded modern resolution support, including: 1680x1050, 1920x1200, 1560x1600, 3440x1440, 3840x1600. This is coupled with a more reliable detection method for available resolutions.

• Monitor refresh rate management and window positioning has been improved for multi-monitor setups.

• The .ini configuration file now supports atomic and clean saving and is no longer mandatory to launch the game. The .ini file will automatically be regenerated with default settings if it is missing.

Networking

• We’ve made joining lobbies a bit more robust. We fixed a race condition that could occur in certain scenarios and prevented premature JoinComplete conditions that would degrade the lobby experience.

Translations

• Included additional fixes for Italian translations

• Included additional fixes for Portuguese translations including missing translated words and restored missing "ç" and "Ç” characters.

Miscellaneous

• Addressed an older sound bug by improving audio handling to avoid sound looping in unexpected ways.

• Added clearer and more distinct Steam error messages.
