(99) 0 #1 Posted January 28, 2009 Has anyone got a concise/detailed sticky with instructions on taking a demo? I am able to record but can't find the recorded file. Does it save as a *.dem file? If so how do you play it? Can it be converted into a *avi or *.mpg format? Thanks for any help. Simon
LunchBox 10 #2 Posted January 28, 2009 Although it is from TF2, it should hold up just fine in DOD:S. http://tf2wiki.net/wiki/Help:Recording_demos If you are trying to record a demo of a hacker to be banned from a Lotus server, please follow the guidelines from this thread: http://forums.gamingterritory.com/index.php?showtopic=3976
James Tyrgglidaar Quall 69 0 #3 Posted January 29, 2009 The command to record a demo is "record demoname" and you put whatever you want in place of demoname. Type stop to finish recording. You should then be able to find the file under C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\steamname\day of defeat source\dod Your steamname where steamname is. The file should be demoname.dem You can play demos by going to the console and entering "playdemo demoname" There is probably a converter out there, I don't have one to recommend, sorry. You could try FRAPS, though. I haven't used it, but it's used for a lot of videos online.
