Voteban Fails

Okay so basically this is a protest against voteban system and how it is failing.

1. People can easily outwit the voteban system.

People (spammers, hackers, and assholes) skip out on getting banned by leaving the server during the voteban vote. They rejoin and they do not get banned even when the vote is successful.

2. People abuse voteban system.

People that should be kicked (campers and afks) are being votebanned instead of being kicked.

3. People voteban the wrong people.

Namechangers (People that namechange to pretend they are someone else) are not being banned by the voteban system. Instead the person that gets votebanned is the innocent and the namechanger switches to another name and starts spamming.

My Solution:

How about we get some admins? I have been playing in the lotus server for over 30 days now (4-5 hours a day) and I have not seen one admin. The only admin I seen was 2 days ago when Mana said in console that the server was restarting.

So if we could actually start getting admins instead of relying on a voteban system that rarely works, the server quality would be much better.

The ban gets saved but if a person reconnects during the voteban then either the map needs to change or a votekick needs to be made. Obviously that's not how it should be, but in the meantime... Voteban works, just needs to be followed by a kick in certain cases.

2. People abuse voteban system.

People that should be kicked (campers and afks) are being votebanned instead of being kicked.

Well it's temporary, so not really that big of a problem.

3. People voteban the wrong people.

Namechangers (People that namechange to pretend they are someone else) are not being banned by the voteban system. Instead the person that gets votebanned is the innocent and the namechanger switches to another name and starts spamming.

I try to educate players from time to time about how you can votekick based on userid. Typing status in console and getting their userid will not require a name.

Admins will happen soon, the Lotus user system is pretty much ready (minus a few things).
