What Is This

Recommended Posts

So, feral cats, a big problem. Anyway I go outside yesterday and find bones. So I'm thinking perhaps some nice bigger animal started eating the damn cats? I see them fight with the local wildlife from time to time.

Some of the bones were scattered about and most have no meat. So something must have eaten this. Can anyone tell me if this was a cat?

Cat skull?

If this was a feral cat, it be nice if they could start dying somewhere other than my yard.

More pictures with a pencil for size reference:

Maybe a cat, but with the eye placement I want to say large rodent. Maybe...a big muskrat.

Would have replied to your IM but you sent it with such force my internet disconnected for a second lol.

Oh and your yard looks a little beat up. Grass is greener on the other side, right?

I always wait for grass to cut itself, unless it becomes a forest or gets close to blooming then I get a friend to help me cut it. But hey it was winter so snow cowered it. Didn't see a reason to cut it RIGHT before winter!

aint a cat.

Then what do you think it is?

Based on yousuck's pictures, it does look like a cat. Perhaps a kitten. The skull appears to be missing the jaw.

Now that I looked at the skull again, it does seem similar.

Still hoping it's one of the many demon spawn feral cats.

Not many things are worse than walking outside after rain and smelling cat piss everywhere. Damn bastards even drink chlorinated water from the pool without any adverse effects.

My father likes to sprinkle red pepper flakes around his newly planted garden to deter them from digging up the fresh soil and pooping there. If you've got any spare red pepper flakes around the house, give that a try.

The amount of red pepper needed to deter these monsters would be quite substantial and costly, especially when the rain washes it away.

Maybe you should try gluing it back together.

To be honest there's no way to really tell from the angle of your photo, or are you afraid to pick it up?

Pick up what? The random bones? I already examined the skull from a few angles. I think it's a dead cat.

That and I saw a half eaten (half rotten?) cat on the neighbor's property. The squirrels were also examining it.

Good fences... make good neighbors?

I already have fences....

Made from wood, metal. Not that fences can do anything against cats.

Cats can fly.

Cats can go through tiny holes.

They might even know how to teleport... who knows.

Last time I checked they could only fly at level 25, and teleportation is at level 100.

Feral Cats are level 6, they can only go through tiny holes (level 5). Do your research, Mana.

Get an invisible fence. You know, the ones that emit ultrasonic sound above human detection but other animals hate.

That would keep the young cats away.
