Question For Frequent Snipers.

Ok so I was watching a thing on History about snipers and it was discussing the two basic strategies they apply. Stalking (I believe that was the correct term) where they actually pickup and lead the target, and ambushing where they aim ahead of the predicted path and fire when the target crosses.

It made me curious, because I would imagine the same strategies are evident in TF2. So if you play sniper frequently, what is your most common strategy or do you mix it up?

Personally I tend to use the ambush method about 80% of the time.

Ambushing 95 percent here unless it's a heavy just stalk the fat bastard, a scout well.. whatever I can get on him would be good enough

stalking is only for when you have a wide area to track, while in tf2, you don't have that, so it's always ambush sniping

I do sporting clays (Yell pull and blast the clay bird) and that is dependent upon leading (stalking) it until you know where the launcher is. Once you know where its coming from you can 'ambush' it.

It would depend on the size of the map and the amount of players. lotus servers tend to have a lot of people running around.

A good sniper will go for high value targets like medics and other good snipers, a bad one will (try to) go after heavys, but both will try and kill the first target they think they can hit and kill in an uncluttered environment.

The terms are kinda weird to apply to tf2.
