Happiness 0 #1 Posted January 11, 2011 Ban Request - Externible (changed his name throughout the demo) Date, Server/Game, Time - 10/01/2011, UK Payload Stocks, around 22:00-23:50 GMT Explanation of the incident - Obvious Aimbot and Wallhack Link to demo - http://www.filefront.com/17776923/externible.dem Their Steam Id - STEAM_0:1:34041237 Stats page link: http://stats.lotusclan.com/playerinfo/615179 Sorry it's a long demo - should be instantly recognisable. However because the voteban demands 80% he was able to stay for AGES thanks to two other people (sometimes 3) voting no, could you please lower this percentage to perhaps 75 or so (was so annoying getting 79%!) and/or give some people who frequent this server the power to kick at least (not necessarily ban), I have done this in another game and am happy to put my name forward for this if you have noone else. Happiness 0 #2 Posted January 11, 2011 Thank you. One thing I forgot to mention in my post last night (as it was late) - the thing that drew suspicion to him in the first place was the impossible number of crit shots he was getting as soldier. Isn't critical hits something defined by the server? how does that exploit work, does it spoof a damage number (seeeing as damage caused immediately before that affects the number of criticals given)? In short, yes critical hit calculations happen client side. http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Critical_hit http://tf2.com/post.php?id=2221&p=
Happiness 0 #4 Posted January 13, 2011 Critical hit calculations happens on both the client and server. Thanks for the info. I've tried to report him to valve/vac but, as you might expect, they haven't done a thing yet. Somewhere it suggests PM'ing the info to a moderator on forum - I did, they've been online 2 or 3 times and not responded to my messages. I found his steam community profile, tried report violation there and he is still playing tf2 on vac secured servers (where he isn't already banned at least)..... wonder if valve get any of the money made from cheat subscriptions (too cynical?) DeJaDeW 83 #5 Posted January 13, 2011 Vac - Valve Anti-Cheat While server admins may choose to ban specific players, server admins cannot VAC ban players. The VAC system is automated - contacting Steam Support to report cheaters is not necessary, nor will Steam Support act on any information provided.
