Notoriously Abusive Player On Tf2 Servers

Hello, recent activities from a certain player on Lotus TF2 servers forced me to create account and report this issue to administrators directly.

He's well known from his provocative talk, usually calling other people fuckers for no reason whatsoever which leads to successful votebans. Sometimes he only speaks in team chat to avoid getting enough votes to ban him.

Today he joined and started calling present German players "fascists", people that started votebanning him called "pedophiles" and a lot more that I'm just ashamed even to quote. This will continue every time he joins. Please someone should take a look at server logs and take appropriate action.

We try to support free speech wherever possible. If enough people complain, then it will be dealt with.

This is not free speech this is blatant offensive and provocative behaviour. I don't know what do you mean by "enough people" but if 3 successful votebans in a week is not enough then I will no longer play on Lotus servers.

I dont think you understand, there are 3 Lotus Staff members. They cannot have eyes on all 28 servers. Its your job to get people in here to state your case, and remove that douche. Add me, jobfnl, next time hes in and ill take a look to help you.

I didn't expect to have to say any more on this issue to be honest. He is a malicious racist who very VERY few people enjoy playing with. I don't know what the tone is like on the USA servers but the UK servers (generally) don't like racism to this extent. Freedom to express one's own opinions on a matter, completely fine; but I disagree with the freedom to offend, provoke and incite malice between players on a game. I'm not calling for a permanent ban (yet), but I think his behaviour certainly warrants an extended ban - 2 or 3 weeks maybe? I don't know what the standard sort of punishment for behaviour problems is here.

Given how few people from UK servers actually visit the forum you might just have to trust our opinions and any lotus recruits who have come across him.

@Krash: I respect there are only 3 staff members at the moment and it is a lot of work. I, like roar, felt that bringing his behaviour to light combined with the server logs of his comments would be enough. Thanks for your offer of help and hopefully some resolution to this comes soon. If needed I can try and get opinions from other players, but I suspect that many will feel he isn't worth the effort of signing up to a forum to complain about

Excuse me but I don't have any "job" here, I assumed that the staff is responsible of taking care of their own servers but I guess I was wrong. Also the response I got mentioned nothing about how underemployed the staff is, instead I received a message that basically says "we don't care because not enough people are complaining".

Whoever told you not enough people are complaining is an ape, lawl. I take it you missed my post? The one saying how people write multiple-page threads about this specific stuff?

It isn't gonna change, ever. The lotus servers pull in a lot of donators.. and unless the profit starts dropping because of this (which it hasn't in 2-3 years of this same exact abuse/harassment) the servers will continue to go unchecked.

He's been warned now (temporarily banned). We'll see if that makes him nicer.

You are fucking retarded. The amount of donors has nothing to do with this thread. The person being reported in this thread isn't even a donor either. I'm not the only person who can ban people here. There's 4 other people (not counting any ingame admins) who can ban players globally from Lotus servers using the website. Those people have nothing to do with donations and so why would donations have ANY bearing on who they ban?

Also the amount of donors on the UK servers is really low compared to even our least popular US servers. The UK servers aren't even remotely profitable and thanks to the Dollar to British Pound conversion are also the most expensive ones as well.

If profit was going to dictate what I do or don't do I would of canceled the UK servers a year ago. There would also only be 4 or 8 servers as it is far easier to keep a lower amount of servers populated 24/7 and servers that are full in the early morning hours draw in the most donors.

Also. If $$ had nothing to do with it, why do you have to donate when applying for your little admin program through the recruit forums? C'mon man, you're killing me here.. the majority of us only want(ed) to help. I was talking of donating more than normal just for SOMEONE to be admin. It definitely didn't have to be me or Captain Planet or some other regular, just, SOMEONE who was active.

I personally could care less about the whole speech thing and people insulting me over the internet crap. It's going to happen everywhere and when you begin to create rules of what you can and can't say you obviously cannot cover everything, so people will toe the line and there will be so many reports to moderate they'd need droves of admins to do it.

The only thing I've ever wanted is some more admins or a team to police the servers for cheaters, they've done this, I'm happy.
