Tf2 Shogun Update And Crashes

Valve tested this update really well.

Dying while falling will crash the server. Yay.

EDIT:

Valve just released another update (unannounced). I assume it fixes the fall damage crash.

If compile = success -> Release

That is the full extent of Valve's testing.

Sad, but true.

The list of bugs range from the engi crit shotgun counter having a spelling error, to head taking not working properly. One of the buggier releases I have seen in a long while.

generally valve has good testing.... i think they just rushed this because of the shogun release even though the new stuff hadnt been tested properly

doesnt help that everything is community made now but whatever

They let paying customers do most of the testing. There's been countless updates that didn't even start and even more crashes.

Talking of crashes:

There seems to be a new exploit around to crash any TF2 server.

If a 'civilian' player gets killed with a katana it will crash the server.

Tested it on my own TF2 (build 4489, latest) server and was able to

reproduce it every time.

Haven't tested it without sourcemod but im fairly certain its an oversight

in the katanas code.

Shogun update and crash part 2! (Should be fixed on our servers thanks to a plugin by bl4nk)

I love how valve is giving all the best melee weapons to the demo now. charge and targe demo is the future, sticky launcher demo will soon be replaced. loollllllllll

Seriously though the new sword for the demo is fine, but it's not fair that the demo can charge and easily kill any class except a heavy easily. Although most players have ready to use wm+1 pyros to airblast, flame and 1 hit axe kill, so it's not bad if u have to go against spam like that or all sticky demo vs u the lone charge and targe demo shogun. I think it was fair once they took away the overheals from it, because so many people complain about that(not just on demo, solders with the new sword and spies with the knife had it too)

Anyone else thought the spy would have the ability to throw the kunai or new knife? it would be his bodyshotting dagger and more people could whine or cry more about bodyshotting. However, to us spies we can finally rejoice, be part of the bodyshotting clan just like the crossbow medics.

Further issues due to really great testing:

I've been getting lag spikes or packet loss ever since the community map pack/rift weapons release

Before that I was able to play just fine.
