SurTails 1 #2 Posted June 26, 2011 I just copy pasted this from another ban request for surtails (me) Hello. No need for a demo. I did abuse again. I votebanned quite a few people even after June 17th. I said I would stop but eh, It's like trying to stop smoking. Kinda hard when you get mad. Votebanning someone (It fails 99,99% of the time, the other is when the player is actually in fault) is quite stress releiving. I'm not the only donator abusing this. Should had just never used this donator power in the first time now it's like an addiction. As for the changeteam. Can't say anything on that In all honestly, I love this server for the people, either if they hate me or like. I'll make new friends on another server. But if there was a possibility to just disable my voteban power instead of permaban, it would be great for everyone (everyone in the server and me). I donated to this server because I played on it all the time and I might as well support it a little. I just cancelled my donation, knowing that the ban is imminent. I hope you understand. SurTails. I don't think any of the people who get so butthurt about SurTails realize how lifeless and boring the server would be without people like him. I used to play on the Rush Gaming 2fort servers, but I left because it was just so damn quiet. Nobody trolled, nobody got mad...it was awful. Let me ask you guys a question. Do SurTails's antics actually ruin your fun? Do they actually stop you from having fun playing Team Fortress 2? If your answer was "yes," you seriously need to take a step back from the computer and re-evaluate what you're doing with your life. Is he still causing you grief? Open the chat window in the game and check all the filter boxes. Disable voice in the game options. Is the game suddenly a lot less fun? It should be. I realize I rambled a bit during this post, but I honestly cannot grasp why this tiny group of people hate mild trolls like Tails so much. All I'm asking of whichever Lotus admin who reads this next is that you consider that banning SurTails (or Snowflakes, or Barnaby Jones, or Strangelove, or any other loud players) will benefit only a small group of players who dislike their attitudes. When you successfully kill me or dominate me, you also start saying a lot of bullshit, not only on the chat channel but also in steam chat. I don't say I never did it myself, but just saying that blaming someone for something you also do is pretty frustrating for the other person. Let's talk about my first temp ban. Until Afronanny came into the server to warn me, you've always seemed a pretty cool guy to me. And that's why you we're in my friend's list. But when he got online to warn me, you started telling her that I was an asshole and stuff, which only shows how hypocrite you are. This is deplorable coming from someone that I thought he was a friend. Yes. I need to control my emotions when I play. BUT YOU TOO RANGER. I hope you're happy about giving me out to the admins and enjoying this moment to the very last. Your KDR will most probably get higher as I get banned. For I congratulate you Ranger. drstrangelove 7 #8 Posted June 26, 2011 Instead of banning, why not do the logical thing and get rid of his donor access. If it is like an addiction, as he says, then why not help him out. The changemyteam thing that Tails does is fine. Even if it is to get rid of upcoming doms. Hell, he paid for it. The voteban is annoying, but he cut back a lot. BurnIt 2 #9 Posted June 26, 2011 Ok first things first, saying "nobody" like SurTails is a complete false. I can think of several players that like him. Also, if he gets banned, alot of those people who like him cause he brings EXCITEMENT & LIFE into the server will probably quit playing Lotus so they can play with him (myself included). Other donators in the server also abuse commands, this includes me. I change teams when my friends get switched, I ban/kick noobs and people who push my buttons enough to make me do so (rarely works). I myself get extremely bored very quickly when things are quiet in the server and I'm usually ready to quit by the time SurTails logs on and when he starts causing "grief" it's more exciting and I stay for a few more hours instead of leaving. Ranger, the chatbox filters and the mute function helps deal with unwanted people. The rest of us don't use it cause, well, we enjoy SurTail's presence and sparkling personality. Æthereal 0 #10 Posted June 26, 2011 Take the kick/ban requests as an achievement. Whenever I see one, I assume that person must have killed SurTails. Team switching has no major effect on gameplay, considering this is an instant spawn server. It just sends him back to respawn, same as if you'd killed him. You just don't get your kill point, or domination or whatever. They are both stupid things to do, but I agree with Dr. Strangelove: taking away donor privileges seems much more reasonable than a ban. I could as well edit all my post and remove all the "I votebanned and changedmyteam" stuff but I won't since I'm honest and I'm a man of my words. If you plan on doing something like this you should go through it all and not act like a baby about it. I'm not usually a grudge-holder but this time you've gone too far. If the way certain people behave bothers you then mute/ignore the person. Problem solved. You haven't got to go out of your way to make a point of fucking with SurTails just because you're butthurt over some smack talk and donor power abuse. Is it really that big of a deal? You're gunna run into people who are bigger pains in the ass than him, or people who are legitimately CHEATING and directly affecting EVERYONE's game experience. Okay, sure, revoke his donor powers, but damn.. Calm your nerd rage, son. No need to go all judge, jury & executioner over here and ask that he be banned outright.
