Valve has made more then.

The community content creators have made 2 million as their split.

Anyone know what the split is?

Kudos to them! Producing good, innovative content at a not terribly unreasonable price is a great way to make a good game have lasting value and to earn a great deal of money. However, 2 million as a split of a split over 2 years isn't anything to write home about either, unless the split is to one.

I'm guessing the split is somewhere in the vein of like 10%

So if say a community mapmaker makes a map he gets like 10cents from every stamp a person purchases.

Simple and reasonable I'd say. Valve could just as easily say "Yeah we're putting this in the update" and then saying "fuck you" afterward.

Oh I can believe this. I've put in a couple of bucks to them as well.

Mainly because I like gambling. Keys + crates = gambling. Course, crafting hats is a nice risky gamble too. >_>
