Too many times I'm in on of your servers, only to see either 4 Spies, or 4 Snipers, no one managing to get the intel in CTF maps, an almost adversion to Engineers, and any attempt to help or ask for something useful is shot down with "lol nub". Willerms 1,794 #2 Posted January 25, 2012 I dissagree. Snipers are a great distraction to let the team get to the intel, and any sniper can kill somone occupied on somone else. If a spy DOES get the intel, they'll just die anyway so what's the point? I often see F2P players that are topping the scoreboard on every server they play on. That plugins gets a server autodelisted after it kicks too many players. You will not find a single real (non trade) server that is successful running this plugin. Even if it didn't get the server autodelisted it would be a terrible idea because old paying players leave at a far greater rate than free players become paying customers. According to valve the conversion rate before October was around 20 to 30%. But now there's less people that play TF2 and that rate is probably lower. XD Silly Pro.The mod is a terrible Idea, servers are built to deny F2Ps with the flip of a button, but any sane Server wouldn't have it on, with the exception of Trade Servers, where its the exact opposite. While I agree that I see more F2Ps playing useless Snipers and Spies, and I can see them as distractions too, this is more of a purely negative point, distractions are just that, distractions. They don't work for too long and never after its been done. I should know. XD While I hate the current 6 Snipers, 1 Soldat, 3 demos and 5 Spies, I really think there's no way to keep nub players off servers without hurting the population. Rather have a server full of cannon fodder than ghost town with Manabots all over the place. One Rabbid is bad enough. XD I dissagree. I must disagree, I've walked out of Intels as a Spy several times, most notably in 2fort, Well, and Turbine. It is NOT an easy Task. But do-able with the right equipment. No one is born an expert or a pr0, we all had to learn, and the only way to do that is by playing. I was F2P when I started playing on Lotus. I'm glad there wasn't anything kicking F2Ps then, and I hope this discussion never becomes serious. Kicking F2P players means fewer players on the servers. Fewer players on the server means fewer potential donors. Fewer donors means less money. Less money means no servers. Just cause you havent bought the game or doesnt want to pay 5 bucks for a game thats free to play doesnt mean that they are utterly terrible? That would be the same thing as calling 99.99% of the players in a free mmorpg or moba game bad. Sure theres F2P users that indeed are terrible, but just as Se7en said. Plus limiting bad players to F2P is wrong aswell. Theres tons of useless "P2P" players out there. No sir in my eyes when tf2 went f2p it was one of the best things ever happend to the game. Sure you're going to be bad for a few weeks / months maybe more but thats limited to how much time you play. No idea why im even wasting time on this thread. Most F2Pers get so much crap mainly because due to F2P more griefers or hackers have shown up, or simply those few that need to wait a few years before returning to the internet. Most of the time you probably just have new people so they aren't sure which class to be, at least attempt to nicely ask them to switch classes. No one likes to be yelled at, especially if they've only played a few times. Kindness goes a long way... If someone is actually being a nuisance don't forget that votekick/ban/mute exists and that you yourself can locally mute people, that are mic spamming. Whatever you do, do not feed the troll. Some of them, like a certain HEAVY I've met on the Payload Race...really knows how to Play the Heavy class.
