JoinedSenses 559 #1 Posted May 13, 2012 Hey. Ive connected to several LC servers within the past days, and I've gotten the 'Lost connection to item server' message,.. mostly the NJ and Texas servers. Would a server restart fix this issue?
Mana 3,867 #2 Posted May 13, 2012 A restart would not fix it at this time. As you may have noticed other people had their items. If the server was at fault no one would have them. Then a restart would be made. It looks like it might be a bug introduced by the latest update where they tried to fix the issue "Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented servers from reconnecting to the item server after dropping connection". After that update I seem to lose my loadout randomly but then it also comes back.

And you said it was the servers hating me. :< I don't quite understand the update though, if its similar to the way Steam Connects to the servers, Steam as the client itself to community, then obviously we have a serious problem because that's buggy as hell right now. JoinedSenses 559 #4 Posted May 13, 2012 You're right, Mana. After a few hours, I popped back into a 24/7 2Fort, my items were available, yet others were mentioning the Item Server problem.
JoinedSenses 559 #5 Posted June 10, 2012 Not to reharsh an old topic, but I've found a quick and easy solution to these loadout/Item Server problems. Change your class, swap out a weapon or two, then switch back to original class. Every now and then, it requires more than one class change to take effect. Harlequin 2,975 #6 Posted June 10, 2012 hey ppl, here some advice you should do when loadout is gone: change class change loadout walk to respawn change back to class you want to play et voila works 99% of the time I loose my loadout. you still need access to your "inventory", even if the msg pops up: Connection to item server lost, it will work well. There was only one time till now (1%) I did not even had my inventory to show up. but that was the overall server, it was 10 minutes of vanilla tf2 but if its only you, and the rest of the server still got their items, and you an see your items in your inventory, the workaround shown above will help you out. -bloodyx
