How To Post Non-Steam Screenshots To Steam

Recommended Posts

Hey Lotus,

Something random, but I found this of use today. It's possible to post SS's to Steam of practically anything.

Example image

The trick is that VideoLAN (VLC Player) is compatible with Steam. Download the program and make sure to add it to your steam library

First, take a screenshot(PrintScreen) of whatever you want to post to your community page.

Save the image to your computer, then open it with VLC Media Player.

Enable fullscreen by double clicking on VLC. Hit your steam screenshot button (Default is F12).

???

Profit.

Or you could set the game to be launched by steam and it will most likely have the steam overlay.

Which is how I have these.

I use an imgur plugin (google one specific to your browser). If you view the picture you can just right click and host on imgur and it'll instantly put a copy of the picture in your imgur account :).
