so... the final exam have started. i have no idea what to make and etc.. so i figured i'd ask here..

we got free hands on the overall subject, poly count and etc..

we got 3 weeks for the project overall

Dear Digital Media students
It's almost time for the final basic test. You must be in the near future make a final project.
You must develop a 3D image or a real time project, as well as a turntable animation and a website for presentation - for a portfolio to sell yourself to a relevant apprenticeship. You choose the use of applications and authoring tools.
Turntablen be rendered from 3D program as a still image sequence and then run through a video editing program and exported to a video file.
The website should present your product (ie your 3D image or real time project and turntable). The theme from the product should be reflected on the website.
The website will also contain javascript. This could for instance. be a gallery (lightbox) or other functions that can be scripted (hover mode, etc..).
Video allowed to be uploaded to youtube, Vimeo, etc. and then embeddes on the website.
Will be prepared project documentation containing:
Project
Audience
Concept development (concept art, reference)
Storyboard
Production Diary
Your project and documentation will be judged by an oral exam where there will be an external examiner from one of the other Digital Media Schools. Will the assessment be made a general assessment of the product documentation and your presentation. The result will be based on the 7-point scale.


The purpose of the sample
The final basic project aims to show the extent to which you have gained the skills and professional areas you because the process has worked with.
The academic qualifications which are weighted specifically on Digital Media is that you can:

Create, manipulate and distribute small graphic files that contain various types of image manipulation using a professional photo editing software, and scan images.

Participate in production planning in terms of preparation of synopsis, script and storyboard and can distinguish between technical formats and their application to different types of tasks.

Apply basic camera and shooting technique and can transfer files to a computer and editing software including use the basic functions of a video editor and link a number of different sequences in a video editing program.

Consolidate various productions in the relevant file formats and export them to different storage media and distribution.

Demonstrate a basic understanding of 3D and can work with 3D visualization in a 3D program.

Convey a visual message and produce a presentation that is visualized with still images or simple product animations.

Working with basic programming and authoring tools, and develop and design simple digital airborne communications products.

Participate in working with concrete tasks from idea to finished product on the basis of understanding of the relationship in digital media production in collaboration with others and in this context to include knowledge about animation, visualization, media integration and web production.

Apply professional and technical terms in both Danish and relevant foreign language, corresponding to the basic subject English, Level E, in the performance of duties within the digital media field.


Deadlines and process
The final basic project is an individual project that you must independently plan and conduct during the 3-week production period.
The project work starts on Monday 3 June 2013 and must be delivered on Friday 21 June 2013 kl. 12.00.
You need throughout the process be present at the school within normal teaching time. In short, compulsory attendance throughout the process.
For the examination is an allocation of 30 minutes per. students, including evaluation, so you should expect that there will be about. 20-25 minutes for presentation and clarifying questions.
Exams take place on Wednesday and Thursday 26th and. 27 June 2013 - Exams follows.
Aids
All materials used in the daily lessons are allowed.
If you involve the work of others (matte painting, java scripts, etc..), It must be clearly documented.
Evaluation of your project:

Your project will be judged on the basis of an overall assessment with a focus on product design and quality of the submitted documentation, your presentation of the project and your reflections on their own efforts, the achievement of the set goals, and the technical process and quality.
You will also be judged on the following Academic focus points:

Proper and appropriate use of programs and technical norms / standards
The implementation of the task, including the use of color, images, composition, etc.
The technical quality and creative execution of product.
Media and technology choices in relation to product and manufacturing.
As well as your personal skills:

Independence of the work. Have you been able to plan, solve problems and manage your time and complete the project.
Accountability - the deadlines are met, you have been able to live up to agreements made.
Reflection on own work and achievement. Do you have a realistic and detailed picture of your own efforts and you can then easily see and assess your own mistakes and shortcomings.

Submission Requirements:

There must be uploaded complete copy of your project with supporting documentation to the network drive (to be announced). That is to say:
A finished product in terms of the 3D image or real time project turntable animation and related presentation website.
All source material, work files, etc.. (*. Psd, *. Max, *. AEP etc.)
A project documentation shall as a minimum shall consist of the following: Project, target group, idea, concept, storyboard, and project diary. - This will also bring in a physical copy of the examination.

Other practical information:
Make-up exams:
You can get to the examination if the Head determines that there is an objective reason.
You can re-examined 1 time if you do not pass. You can apply for exemption if there exist exceptional circumstances.

Examiner
Examiner comes from one of the other schools that also has Digital Media and will possess the required expertise.

Complaint Rules
Complaints about the exam and conduct of examinations must be done no later than 2 weeks after the rating is awarded to the student. Complaints should be addressed to the school and must be in writing and reasoned. They must be:
the test has been completed in accordance with the rules applicable to the subject in question
the test has been completed in accordance with the examination rules
of examinees has been a consistent and fair assessment
about their performance has been a reliable assessment.
