Most servers, at least ones that want that are popular and want to remain popular, are always going to run special event servers during the designated event time. It's not as if Lotus is unique in this and it last for less then 2 weeks. People only have that short period of time to earn and/or find over 100 items and complete several new achievements, so that's what the majority of people are going to want to do.
