Leviathan 0 #1 Posted January 4, 2007 Anyone know where the skins are stored on DM? I'm assuming that seeing as we'll be be able to create and add our own skins soon, i could technically just add the collectors edition human armour to my files and use it Anyone know anything about it? ^^
Sars! 0 #2 Posted January 4, 2007 I know just everything about it Let me introduce, the AvA doll: I'm also creating some skins for Mana manaseum (gladiators ) Well, it's pretty easy, you make those folders in steam/steamapps/urname/dark messiah of mm multiplayer/materials/models/ Then there are a few possibiltiys HArcher HMage HKnight HAssassin HHealer and the same for undead but the H = U Now you got something like this: program files/steam/steamapps/urname/dark messiah of mm multiplayer/materials/models/HKnight You just put your own made skins in that folder. Those are a .vmt and a .vtf file. If you need more help, add me on msn: [email protected] Grtz, Sars! EDIT1: Yes, I beat you with this one, Mana! I'm working on much more complicated mods for MP now too. Just wait till you see robocop with futuristic weapons. (I need someone to host a server though ) EDIT2: You could also check out my skin pack which is publicly released: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/7...05/m/8311078715
Mana 3,867 #4 Posted January 5, 2007 EDIT1: Yes, I beat you with this one, Mana! I'm working on much more complicated mods for MP now too. Just wait till you see robocop with futuristic weapons. (I need someone to host a server though ) I can just manually edit the post date via mysql and disprove you quite easily. As a side note, copying skins from MP will do nothing much... because the model will differ and as such if you apply a Sareth skin (he sometimes has no head or arms) to a say Knight model that has both a head and an arm or two will make it look pretty bad and not lined up. You would also have to use a model then, but if you use a SP model you would have to add the MP actions and animations to it or else you might have a fun time trying to fight someone online. Also it might just so happen that in one of the updates they might fix file validation check and as such if you have a custom model or a skin you will not be able to join a "pure" server and a server is "pure" by default, you have to disable consistency to bypass that (server side command). And that priest skin is fudging ugly :X
Leviathan 0 #5 Posted January 5, 2007 Huh....its early here so that didnt quite sink in Mana Your saying i couldnt take the collectors edition skin file from someone that has it and it add it to my currently existing ones? Mhhh that you probably could, but that wouldn't make you a "collector" meaning other people would not see you with a different armor... You need something else if you want to become a collector whit out actually being one... but I can't say what that is
Sars! 0 #6 Posted January 5, 2007 Well, I just tried implementing the Collectors edition skin, and I'm afraid to say Mana is right. I already tested some other things, but these wouldn't work either. The only option for the moment is to edit the current skins, and not making new ones. If anyone finds a way though, I would be happy to hear about it. @Mana: Duh, the skin is very ugly, it was just a test. I'm working on beautiful skins now, but it takes a lot of time... Grtz, Sars!
