Mana 3,867 #4 Posted January 29, 2008 Nvidia of course. Ati just made a Double Radeon 3850 (X2) and the 8800GTX still beats it for the most part. And that's a 1+ year old card. Ati is somewhat behind in this race. But it's good for people who want to get cheaper cards.
-=^*Draco*^=- 0 #5 Posted January 29, 2008 Right now, Nvidia is definitely ahead when you compare the year and the architecture of that year independently against its competition. Even though ATI keeps releasing new architecture, the old 8xxx series Nvidia cards can still perform at the same level if not better. Also, Nvidia will be releasing their new 9xxx series GPUs within the next few months. Hopefully in the next couple so I can do the EVGA step-up deal I own an 8800 Ultra, it's a nice piece of work. Costs a small fortune, but I only spent about 2600 on my full PC from the ground up and I'll probably be using two 9xxx series Nvidia cards in SLI when I get a chance/financially stable.
