Lakachu 0 #1 Posted April 28, 2008 Hi, new to the forums, and really like the server and site. Just visiting and its nice. This is the only server I ever experienced getting disconnected from, yeah I've got a reciept for the game and own it respectfully. Why would steam show me this message? " Disconnected: You do not own this game" Either my steam account bugged out on me or man I must've really made someone mad with pwnage. Disconnected at 6:15 P.M. from 76.74.154.156:27015. I was having fun until disconnected, I'm not saying I want to ever revisit, but just hoping it was a steam error. What I'm trying to ask is, Is it possible that an admin put this message up just to mess with people when they kick them? If so, man thats hilarious. If so, man thats hilarious. 5074[/snapback] It happens to a bunch of people on Steam. For some often for others barely ever. It's usually your Router/Modem/Computer loosing connection to the VAC servers which Authenticate your Steam ID and the games that you are allowed to play. When that happens your game/server thinks that you don't actually own it and you get disconnected. It shouldn't be anything to worry about... Especially if it's not happening often. People get kicked/banned from our servers VERY rarely. Definitely not for being too good (unless it's blatant hacking... Engineer Sniper with the pistol whit out recoil across the map anyone?). Lakachu 0 #4 Posted April 29, 2008 The steam tech support was telling me the same thing. so I just checked out my system at Bestbuy and my Lynksys ethernet adapter was going bad. Since I bought the adapter at Bestbuy they replaced it free of charge. I just checked if I could get on the server as well and Im also glad to know I wasn't banned for an unknown reason. Well thanks Mana and Clan for helping me figure this one out, I appreciate it.
Rambler 0 #5 Posted April 29, 2008 I get the Invalid Steam: ID error every now and then. Always a pain in the ass. Just saying.
