Dragon Strategies

Recommended Posts

Now this is a clan which every person is accustomed to. It is easy to play and everyone picks it very often. I always (and still do) believe that this was the original clan of one of the best RTS games, Battle Realms. This clan is extraordinary because of it's diversity of units. I love the archers/geisha strategy especially with the long range upgrade. This is one of the areas which makes the Dragon clan deadly. Whenever I do this strategy, I like to hit and run (ofcourse sometimes with fire). Thus accumulating yang and such to quickly get arah out. Afterwards its a blast, (if you have a good micro) you can smoothly kill units and run away without being harmed; I call it the "Fast and Deadly" strategy. Obviously with dragon fire later on in the game, this strategy owns; especially in 2v2's and 3v3's (dont make me mention 4v4's because they seldom ever happen). Dragon clan has many more strategies, but I discussed my most common one used. :)

Yes if I ever go dragon I always go with the Archer+Arah+Geisha combo, works every time, especially when you can use fire arrows.

Remember what I do with Arah? Send her over to the nearest enemy village (if its a map that has ledges like Center Ring its even better) and let her hunt the peasants down! I once killed over 60 peasants!

People say it is abuse to hit and run like that, I say who gives a shit. Anyways there are other dragons strategies like indirect, whirl, stardust, and chi shield. Once again , it all depends on what your opponent makes.

Yes, 1nsane does that a bit... But it annoys me that only Arah and a select few can reach so the others who are supposed to protect Arah from coming enemies keep on sneaking down to go to the village. The only thing I call abuse is dc, and ds combined, I don't care about ds much that I use it but dc is cheap in my opinion. One game I fired the Dragon Monument and lotus defended with dc not letting me explode even 1 of their sly hungry warriors. Canopy is not too good on my side if you get the drift. There is no such thing as abuse actually, if those powers were given to a clan they're supposed to be used.

Once again, Dark Canopy known as DC is part of the game. There are many ways to stop it.

Glasssword

druidess

mugg

stun

paralyze

And all melee can go in and hand on hand combat and kill the DC, preferably a dragonwarrior.

Once again, bad choice. When you are online the game is so intense that glassswords would die because they can only walk. People use mugg and druidess more often.

yes, but I dont play online too much with many people cause they seem to never join or have some weird thigs done to the game when the others start dissing others and in the end most fo them leave. But now tahts its getting better I think I will learn the good ways.

Another great strategy for Dragon, about 8-10 spearmen/ whirl ability, 2-3 kabuki/flashpowder ability, 1-2 kabuki/stardust ability, 1-2 dragonwarriors/chi shield ability, 3-5sumos/indirect ability, and 3-5 geisha(bonus: If on horses), and 4 samurai in dragon spirit. This strategy is significantly difficult and one of the most advanced strategy of the dragon clan. This requires great micro, I repeat only for advanced players can pull this strategy off, and trust me it works great. With heroes it is even better!!

Hmm.. When I play dragon I always make sure to have both Stardust and Flashpowder. Sometimes I'll have a chi sheild or two. But, I do prefer using dragon's ranged units. Indirect is good, but still some units don't get heavy damage from kegs. Then again, if theres alot, it will do alot of damage no matter what. I think its always smart to have a few tank units.. Especially kabuki's with flash... :)

All this magic use in the strategies seems weird. Just reading what you would do makes me laugh, the game is to fight not have each warrior equiped with magic and eliminate your opponent like that.

Hmm. Well, Dove, see there is more to it then brute strength. I mean, why would the makers of the game put in battle gear if they didn't want it to be used to full effect? Not ALL characters need to have battle gears.. But they certainly will make the battle much more easier. And hell, its way fun watching the enemy get owned by magic! :D

Ya I wen't a bit too strong on the post stating "I hate" magic but no its good. I love like you know a couple of equiped warriors for some sweet effects and fun results but I wouldn't enjoy the game if my opponent or I would equip up to 8 differen't warriors with all these differen't spells to man handle my army.

:D yeah. Well dragon does have the best battle gear. Lucky them. Thats why their units are so weak. They make up for it in their battle gear. But some clans dont need to use magic, like wolf, cuz of course, you kno, their brute strength and what-not. But the other 3 clans need their battle gear for full effect :D

I like dragon's razing abilities. Nothing compares to their line up of sumos with id, archers with fire arrows, chemists with... ugh, the fireworks battle gear, and dragon warriors with the extremely effective fire swords. Watch the town go up in flames! :)
