Terrible Lag Lotusclan Arena 74.55.237.138

Hi all,

I've been a fan of the LotusClan arena server at 74.55.237.138 for some time now. However in the past 2-3 weeks the servers has been intermittently lagging, and it is getting worse with each passing day it seems. I just stopped by to play a few rounds and we were seeing 3-4 5 second lag spikes each round. Along with these spikes, the server overall seems choppier and unstable.

Has this been brought to anyone's attention? Is anything being done? If it continues I'll have to find some new arena server to call home. =(

great! A lot of the normal user base has already headed for greener pastures...the server is hardly filled up anymore. Hopefully we can get them back.

Arena is a big fail regardless of lag,mabye people are just now realizing that.Just does not feel like tf2 in arena mode , more like counter strike.

I'd be fine if arena mode didn't make some people wait out. Sure its not the Rambo spirit, but it is fun.

talked to Mana today, seems he/she fixed the server. Dunno what was done but it seems to be back to normal. Stayed 20 player+ the whole time I was there to boot. Good times.

The arena server is lagging quite badly again today. Friday, 11-07-2008.

The pings all seem ok the server is just very choppy.

I've restarted the server.

I just got on the server and it was really nasty again...people telelagging around, weapons not switching, sticky bombs not exploding. Several people complained so i know it wasn't just me.

played friday night and again today, two seperate occasions today. All three times the server was choppy/laggy/etc.

any idea whats going on? I miss the lagfree lotus server!

Odd, it was fine when I played.

I was on today from about 2:00EST to 3:00EST and it was a bit choppy/laggy. I'd say about half as bad and half as frequent as friday/saturday but still annoying. Other players were complaining as well, so I know it was not just me. The server was full/mostly full the whole hour, and I was getting telelag, connection warnings, and sometimes several seconds of packetloss. Wrenches wouldn't swing, rockets wouldn't reload, same old lag stuff as before.

Seeing how there's spare CPU... There might be a core cache mismatch. So when it moves from one core to another it has to use a new cache which could pause the server.
