Starting Up A New Tf2 Server

Hello,

I have recently made a new TF2 server, but I am having trouble getting it populated. I have enjoyed playing on the LotusClan servers for quite some time, especially because they are almost always full no matter what time of day I join them. I was wondering what are some good ways to get word out about a server, how to get people in it, and have them stay, etc. The server is a very good one, no lag, or any other nuances, but if nobody ever joins it, then no-one will know how good it is. Does anyone have any suggestions for advertising a new server? How did LotusClan first start out with it's servers?

Hmmmmm, I'd say have your buddy list join, and try and get their friends to join, if its on dustbowl/goldrush it doesn't take too big of a populace to attract people.Whenever it gets down to maybe 1v1 or 2v2 in lotus servers I just stay in and it slowly grows, this might be due to our popularity, but I can't be sure. Oh, and fake players can trick people into the server, that usually works.

6 of them got moved to new IPs. It took months to get the old ones popular, it will take a similar amount of time now too.

none of the new servers even show up for me and I refesh multiple times each day. We have enough regulars to populate a server up to 5v5 and then that's when it usually picks up, so I'm guessing noone else can see the servers either.

That doesn't ass anything too the conversation or answer any questions, where in my post did I NOT acknowledge they had new IPs, I was saying that because they are new they are not showing up on my server list no matter how many times I refresh. And considering everyone else cares a lot less, I'm doing more than most just to play on lotus servers.

add all the server ips to your favorites, that's what i did

then if there's an empty server and you have some friends on, just invite them all to the game

the AI Programmer Dave or whatever his name is does it all the time and it always ends up a full game
