+Henry Spencer 117 #2 Posted May 31, 2009 When was the last time you played before today? It seems like it's a problem on Valve's end, thanks to the flurry of shitty updates they're releasing. The patch released yesterday might have messed some stuff up.

Graedus 9 #4 Posted May 31, 2009 Maybe it has something to do with custom settings or plugins with your install or something on the server that's incompatible with each other? Did you install anything new on your end?
Stabby McKnife-Face 17 #5 Posted May 31, 2009 unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occured in the application Something happened that triggered an error ID (hex) 409.... at location 0x142df308 in your RAM @ address (hex)142df308 Which means absolutely nothing, other than TF2 crashed for a reason only Valve would know (since we don't have the TF2 source code, and don't know their exceptions). An exception is a bit of code padding that handles stuff like "dividing by zero" or some shit that would cause the thing to give some garbage. Instead of garbage, the code throws an "exception" which the rest of the code is supposed to "catch". In this case, TF2 wasn't ready to handle that exception that was coded and it crashed to avoid really annoying/damaging stuff to your computer. In layman's terms, only half of the code that was supposed to handle whatever you did was ever coded. I've been playing just fine, so it's something on your end. JonasV 9 #6 Posted May 31, 2009 If you have backed up your steam games recently try deleting your local content and then reinstalling TF2 from the backup. I was having a bunch of issues after the Sniper/Spy update, but I reinstalled and it fixed everything except the ghey shadow issues. My guess is a corrupted patch file or something similar.
