I Really Hate This Game.

DoD:S rules. Addicting, really fun when everyone works together on my teams. Takes practice but a good strategy and attack plan will help overcome any problems with accuracy and reaction-speed. So it is pretty well balanced. Needs more attention from developers but meh

I used to play CSS before TF2, and I found DoD:S to be kind of confusing. Do you think it has a steeper learning curve than CSS? I haven't gone back to it after the first few times I tried it.

well, i haven't really played much CS:S or ever played TF2, so I can't compare learning curves. However, if you are a decent FPS gamer who can learn maps fairly quickly, it really shouldn't take more than a few hours to really 'get' the game. It's a bit like poker: doesn't take long to learn how to play, but it takes forever to master it. Except it's more like 50-100 hours of game-time to master it. The game seems really chaotic at first, especially in a no FF server since people throw nades like crazy, but once you know what each side is trying to do things become less hectic and it isn't as hard to get a few kills. The game has kind of a low score ratio but basically,

if you are getting

1 kill:1 death you aren't horrible

1.5:1 you are above average

2:1 decent

3:1 good

4:1 really good

5:1 reallly good

6:1 probably a sniper camping and no one shooting a rocket or primed nade at them
