elementcs13 0 #1 Posted September 19, 2009 Hello, Well, I'm just a regular tf2 player who really enjoys playing on your servers. I've been playing on these servers ever since I began playing tf2, which was about 8-10 months ago. Anyways, for those of you who haven't noticed, the lotus servers tend to have a really bad team stack problem at times. (Which is caused by Lotus members who are immune to votescrambles and auto team balance.) I don't know if the lotus members care or not, but it gets really really bad at times to the point where you're just not having fun anymore. I'm not going to name anyone specifically because it's not all of them and a lot of the lotus members are actually really cool people. Take a look at a few ingame screenshots I have taken: (It's funny at first, but it's really sad if you think about it.) http://img524.imageshack.us/i/39270692.jpg/ (Teams were 9 vs 21 because a lot of players got frustrated and whether went spectator or left the server) http://img15.imageshack.us/i/22775391.jpg/ (The game hasn't even began and the teams are already being stacked.) (That was just 2 of the many times I've seen ridiculous things. I've seen the main score go 21-0, I've seen the entire side of one team ALL have domination's, and I've seen one side with playerscores over 100 and the other side stuggling to get at least 30 points.) I've played on both sides, stacked and unstacked, and I can arguably say that this is unfair. I understand that everyone likes to play with their friends, but think about the other Non-Lotus players for once. I've been an fps gamer for quite a few years. I've played competitively in leagues with atleast a dozen teams, won a few matches/tournaments and almost made it to the top of the league. I can easily say that the odds of a GROUP OF RANDOM PLAYERS beating a TEAM is very unlikely. That's what this is! Lotus members play with eachother all the time, most of them are good players, and communicate very well. As opposed to a group of random pubbers who don't know eachother, have poor communication, and which most of the time simply aren't very smart and good at TF2. The easy fix to ALL OF THIS would be if the pub players would simply get better at this game. But that's easier said than done. Most of the donators and lotus members will probably be upset with me for making this suggestion, but there is no other way to solve this problem. Get rid of their immunity! It's great that donators are supporting Lotus, but can't there be other benefits other than being immune to votescrambles and auto team balance? I will continue to play on these servers regardless of your decision, but I just thought I'd try and open your eyes. Thank You.
+Henry Spencer 117 #2 Posted September 19, 2009 If I recall correctly, the first situation happened because we didn't feel like playing offense. It was kind of a joke, but then it snowballed until a ton of people followed. :x
redruM_13 17 #3 Posted September 19, 2009 This is the first I've ever heard of this problem! How dare those people play with their friends. They should be shot at close range! Bad stackers!!!!!!

elementcs13 0 #6 Posted September 19, 2009 It's obvious some of these posts are full of sarcasm. Phantom, you're one of the main ones which support team stacking. Well, like I said, it's your decision what to do.
+Henry Spencer 117 #7 Posted September 19, 2009 They're being sarcastic because there are posts about this very subject in practically all the main sections of the forum. We know it's bad.

elementcs13 0 #9 Posted September 20, 2009 by usually carrying whatever team im on? Actually, I still remember exactly what happened this day. I was on the "stacked" team at the time. There was a vote scramble, and you were put on the team you didn't want to be on. Since you're immune to vote scrambles, you automatically switched to the team you wanted to be on and with your deep clogged up sounding voice said "Well that didn't work very well!" and then just laughed along with the other donator members. CloakedStarship 7 #10 Posted September 20, 2009 This is really simple, the people putting money into the server are going to have a more enjoyable experience than the people that don't. Thats just the way it is.

elementcs13 0 #12 Posted September 20, 2009 im curious as to why you blacked out your name in the screenshots For OBVIOUS reasons. You must be a really dumb person not to be able to figure that one out... This is really simple, the people putting money into the server are going to have a more enjoyable experience than the people that don't. Thats just the way it is. You guys are the ones that run these servers, if you want to keep it that way, then so be it. I'm sorry for being rude to your fellow lotus member phantom, but this guy is a real prick sometimes and just never knows when to shut up.
+Henry Spencer 117 #13 Posted September 20, 2009 Uh, phantom is not a Lotus Member. He's not associated with the clan in any way, shape, or form.

elementcs13 0 #15 Posted September 20, 2009 Welcome to the world driven by cash, you don't pay, you don't get shit. Yea, sucks. I know that if I was a "donator" I would still think it's unfair for the other people. Let's put everything aside, and just answer this: Do you think it's unfair CloakedStarship? People play tf2 to have fun, and to get away from real life shit. I'm not trying to seem like I'm against lotus, because I'm not. I'm simply saying that it's not fun to play on your servers sometimes because of this issue. It's not just me either, I'm speaking for a large amount of people who enjoy playing on your servers as much as I do. I was looking through the donator benefits. *Reserved Slot *Colored Username in Chat *Round End Immunity *Autobalance Immunity *Party Hat of Any Color Along with the capability to start numerous votes. Then there's that very 1st button, the problem that is causing these team stacks. "1.Change my team" Why is it so hard to just take away that 1st option from donators? It's fine for actual lotus members, but it's the donators who are mainly causing this problem!

I know, I used to help pay for a BF2 server back in the day, just one cost an arm and a leg. Luckily for Mana, he had a stroke of genius and decided to pass the fee onto the users for a small donation, and rewarding them with a reserved slot and allowing them to choose what team they wanted to be on. But for real, I know what its like. The months before I actually started donating I would play on lotus stocks on and off and it was almost always a nightmare being on the wrong team. But all of the servers are always full, and theres Mana standing over on the side telling me for just $5 I can make all my problems go away and have a wonderful time. Damn genius it is. I pay an insignificant enough fee, Mana gets dozens of people paying, and the bill probably takes care of itself. So is it fair? Depends on how you look at it. For the people on the wrong team not really caring about the server, no, to them its not fair. But to the people that know the server needs to be paid for and also know that Mana is gonna help you out if you help him out, then yeah, its fair, because they are the people that put out money, and the people that didn't are in for a bad round. The Computer Geek 6 #17 Posted September 20, 2009 (edited) Yo elementcs13, here's some friendly advice: 1. Lotus has around 18 servers. Not all of them are stacked 24/7. 2. Stocks #1 and #2 are the one's that have the most stacking. (At least from my view.) 3. We really don't stack to win, really we stack on one team because we prefer to play with people we know. 4. phantom is just trying to goad you. He's a prick to everyone. But we love his fat ass just the same. 5. If 1-4 did not help, as my father would say, "There's the door. Don't let it hit you in the ass." 6. THERE IS NO RULE SIX!! (Can anyone name the 60's TV show that's from and the actor who said the line?) Edited September 20, 2009 by The Computer Geek

That's reasonable and I completely respect that. We'll leave it at that. Just be the bigger man and join the other team every now and then when you see that there's a really big problem. I know I would really appreciate it. Thanks Guys!
