Half-Life 2 Now Has Old Source Engine?

Recommended Posts

Okay, so I wanted to play Half-Life 2 today but when I booted it up it had the old Valve logo (with the guy having the valve in the eye) and the old Source screen. I was like, "Huh, okay. Whatever." But when I went to load my saved games they weren't loading! I looked in the save folder and they were still there, so I just double-clicked them but it said I was missing a system.dll file. I re-installed it and it still has the same problem. It's like it gave me the original Half-Life 2 source version instead of the Orange Box version. It was very odd.

Any idea what happened? Has this happened before with other people? The last Steam update might have done something... Maybe... In theory...

Half Life 2 has been running on the pre EP1 engine the whole time. Which is why it still has 64bit support.

Really? Huh, okay. Still, I don't know why my saves aren't working. Still looking into this... <_<
