Tfc Custom Map Remake Night

Hello everyone, donated a few weeks ago or so finally cause I've really enjoyed playing on Lotus and it's all I ever play on anymore and finally registered on here to throw out an idea.

Back at my old disbanded community (FatGamer.net), I threw out this idea to the staff, then on the forums to do one night on one of our servers (only had 3 servers so it had to be planned well).

I purposed that we try a TFC map remake night. A lot of people in the community had never played TFC before. They don't know how the original Well and 2fort and Dustbowl look. They were never aware of great maps like Avanti, Rock2, Flagrun, Epicenter, etc. So what I thought of is one night we can use one of the servers and play solely TFC maps that have been remade for TF2 (Miyari, you remember this I think). I searched and searched FPSBanana for maps (I was kind of put in charge of doing this, I had admin and ftp access) and uploaded them to the server host. We tested a few maps out on busy nights when the majority of people playing didn't mind to check out a new (old) map.

Anyways, long story short. In the end, it was extremely successful. We even did another idea I had (almost like a thread here too) only we did custom maps voted by the community for a night. It was extremely fun, playing old maps like Epicenter, Warpath, and Avanti, being brought back 6-10 years ago of playing TFC. Really, the only problem we had from some people was the detail and lighting. Back in TFC, everything wasn't all bright and colorful and had the 'farm' theme. People complained that maps were too dark. Avanti is a map set at night, Well was darker too. But once people got over minor, little details that don't really matter all that much, again, it was extremely successful (EXTREMELY FUN) and I believe we ran it twice a month for a few months until the community disbanded. It kept the server full, people were looking forward to the night, always wanted to do it 2 nights in a row.

So I just thought I'd throw the same idea out here, maybe a possibility we can try it here too. Here from what everyone else thinks. Now that I think of it, I think I'ma see if I can find a server running Avanti right now and go play!!!

For like five seconds we had a remake server but that obviously won't work. There's a lot of awesome TFC remake maps and I thoroughly enjoy playing the most of them. As such, I'd love to see a Lotus server running them. I still like to beat the dead horse about the subject of having a custom map server and still think we should have one. I remember when Vegas used to run our (always successful) TFC map nights back in FG, he left some of the maps not in the rotation but able to be voted to. I think the addition of at least 4 custom maps to the map server that would be available via voting wouldn't break the sanctity of your 'STOCK MAPS OMG' server. Or at least give us a fucking customs server already.
