I Hate This Server's Autobalance System.

I won't donate simply so that there is a chance some of us Data-haters will wind up on different teams so nobody's getting steam-rolled (on Stock 3).

That was probably a major cause of the enforcer, along with the reason Mana posted above. I think it was a great move financially, as well as a great way to get whiners off the server.

Main reason was 10 assholes in spectate.

I think there's screenshots on this forum somewhere illustrating the issue.

Toyed with autobalance enforcing 1+ year ago, didn't really like it, but hey here's a 180.

like i said in another post about someone bitching about auto-balance. ive been playing on lotus servers basically since the game came out and never thought about donating.... until this new autobalance system came out. i donated the small amount of money and i have had greater playing experience because of that. and no more ripping my hair out because of autobalance bullshit after i carry a team to victory just to get switched and lose at end of round.

if your tight on money and cant afford it, then either get a better job or skip breakfast for a day and use the money to donate. other than that make suggestions on the forums but dont expect to get anywhere

The auto-balance system is fine. the only gripe i have is that it wont let you switch back if the other team is down 2 people

Well. What are prioritized when it comes to the auto balancing? Top scorer? Demo class? I play almost only demo class and I feel like I get switched very very often, most regular gamers on Dustbowl UK would agree, so I'm just curious. I can understand the need for it but it still bugs me. Maybe I should spend time playing engy ;]

It uses Valve's default autobalance system. So being dead is an issue. If you don't wanna get autobalanced, don't die.

You're probably balanced a lot because you're one of 6+ demos on either team spamming nades around corners on Spambowl.

I usualy play in the 2fort server, but I hate this autobalance too only for one reason...

I think autobalance is in fact a necessary evil, but being autobalanced when I'm fighting for a team for so long already, even after having captured the intel, is very annoying and usually makes me leave the server.

This is what I'd like to see fixed.

Players that are in the server for less time than me, or that haven't yet touched the intel, should be a priority...

If I recall correctly I have a 3.20 k/d ratio, well had most likely, and I don't think that I die very often. Probably just feel like I get auto balanced because I play a lot.

Don't be an ass. I wasn't trying to be one when I replied here, I was just curious and asked. I play demoman the most because that is my best class. I would play other classes and I have tried a lot lately but when you have a team telling you to constantly go demo, several medics on friend list who joins your team so they can heal you when you're a demo....you go demo. I make a big difference for the team when I am a demoman compared to when I play sniper or soldier. This is the reason why I play at nights on payload and 2fort.

FACT: Demoman wouldn't be as effective as he is on maps such as Dustbowl if 1. People knew how to dodge spam instead of run face first into it and 2. Knew that running away from kritz demo is a terrible idea, you should be running AT them.

FACT: Demoman is one of the harder classes to play in the game, no one elses fault you play against terrible competition and sticky camp hallways.

I initially posted in this thread cuz I had been auto balanced 3 times during my play, and no I did not die very often, and I found this topic on the first page and replied here. Too bad there are some nitpickers who think I was going against Mana and went looking for something to bitch about in my post. I've played on the servers for a very long time and I'm almost only playing on Lotus servers so I appreciate and respect the time Mana, and others who might work with the servers, might have spend on it.
