Credomane 2 #1 Posted May 2, 2010 I haven't got a clue why I'm banned actually. I was playing just fine earlier today on Stock Maps #2 I think it was. "Clever Girl", "Melissa" and "phantom" were there. Played a few maps then got off after the end of a dustbowl. Tried to get on just now but failed to connect. In the console I simply see "Banned by server". Credomane STEAM_0:0:16597691 [edit] Well I think I might have figured it out, now. I messaged around to some of the people that I was trying to join on Stock Maps #2. I learned that just shortly before went to join my brother got himself votebanned for 30 minutes because he was votemap spamming. Seeing as we share the same public IP is this just a case of me having to serve his punishment, too? I heard who it was that started the voteban and just think it was hypocritical seeing as they do it themself when they don't like the nextmap. Hell just about everyone will start a damn votemap war until they get the map they want if they dislike the next one. Here's my brother's id just in case. He started votekicking all of them to make room for people that would actually play the game. So this was more of an issue with votespamming that the votemap spamming i was originally lead to believe. :/ Anyways I'm no longer banned. seems I had to take the same thirty minute ban my brother did. :/ ...Um. Leave the name calling to the kiddies. I came here wanting MYSELF unbanned because at the time of the post I had no idea why I was banned. After posting the original message I discover that my brother went and got himself votebanned for votekicking all the idlers. Something I had to also do myself earlier in the day since the idle kick timeout didn't seem to be working at that time. I have since learned that the voteban is 30 minutes and also uses the IP to do a ban and probably the steam_id as well. So should I end up "randomly" banned again I'll take it up with my brother first, kick his ass around a bit if needed and wait out the 30 minute timer. And on the votespamming thing. You were doing that just last week when you didn't like the nextmap until you got one you liked or gave up. I don't know which it ended up being. I even tried to votekick you but I couldn't beat you to the 30 seconds vote timeout. Let's just go with phantom is a shitbag and forget the whole thing. The problem was self resolving anyways.
