I just started up again after about a 20 year break from fishing. Picked up a couple rods, a 10 foot Shakespeare and a 11 foot something or other and two Abu Garcia Ambassadeur reels. Have not caught much, I bunch of 12-18 inch cats but I did manage to pull in a 14lb 30z Flathead a week ago last Monday.

Truck backed up to lake opening with Rods set up looking like a fishing trolly. Got an umbrella and room for my chair and a cooler so I can fish in style

Sadly, this isnt even considered big. 30-40 lb Cats are the norm, 70-90lbs are pulled out several times a year and the record is 130lbs. Rumors of 300lb blue catfish sighted near the dam.

Lonely? I finally get to be alone with no one to bother me.. its why I go out. Occasionally people show up, its not a problem though, how do you think the pic of the fish was taken? I also dont drink Alcohol.

As for the 9mm, plenty of reasons to carry it. Bears, Wild Dogs, Boar, Mountain Lions and things with 2 legs sometimes need to be dealt with. The AK just became too much of a problem to carry around.

I caught a fish by the ass before, hooked it while reeling in. A friend caught a 10lb 3oz Flathead on a troutline yesterday by the head.. not in the mouth but in the head, above and between the eyes.

Made some stink bait I hope will catch me some big ones. Shad, set out in a jar for a couple hours to ferment, then I added beef blood, 4 table spoons garlic and Minnow oil, let it sit with 40 shad to infuse the smell into them then froze them to make them release their oils. Come Saturday, its on like donkey kong. The mixture stunk so bad, I could smell it through 6 zip lock bags lol. I had to transfer it to a mason jar so I could not smell it from my freezer.

People make that mistake often, its not a Dragunov, its a Romanian PSL-54C. Its the AK variant marksman rifle. The difference is, $500 or so for the PSL, $5,000 for the Dragunov.I got it from Center Fire Systems if I recall correctly. If you see a X in the Magazine, its a PSL.

I have a 30/30 lever action that I will be inheriting when my father dies, It belonged to my grandfather when he was young and I think possibly his father. Its at least 2 generations old, I would put it at 60-80 year old rifle at the very least.

Hopefully Monday evening I will have a nice fish caught.. I made some bait that I need plastic gloves to handle because last time I handled it I needed to bleach the smell of my hands. 3 days on the lake in a row, 3 poles going at once, I should get something.

Too be honest, I had never done 405 lbs in my life. I always repped with 315, and my max ever was 385 (2 days prior). I wasn't sure I could do it. I guess I had to go all out this time. I didn't want to disappoint. Nket would have been proud.
