Deadbeat 0 #1 Posted October 17, 2010 I didnt exploit. I was playing on the server this afternoon and some people were exploiting the sentry bug and making a crapload of sentries. I was laughing about it and killing spies that tried to destroy them. Some guy named ranger? or something was crying about it and said they would get banned. Not my problem. I didnt exploit the sentries. But for some reason I was banned from your server. So heres the recap: -I witnessed people using the sentry exploit. - I DID NOT USE THIS EXPLOIT NOR EVEN PLAY AS AN ENGINEER DURING MY ENTIRE TIME THERE. - Some spy wiped out all the sentries anyways. So why was I banned? Cause I called some guy that wouldnt stop bitching and flooding the screen about the sentries a dick? cause he was. Shutup and report it. Why sit there and cry about it? I just want to know why I was banned. Just curious as since I didnt exploit thats a load of crap Im banned. My name on the server? Deadbeat.
PanDaru 0 #2 Posted October 18, 2010 Personally I think doing any kind of ban for an open exploit, especially on a lotus, is something I've never seen so hated before. I'd understand if people were being banned for short amounts of time like 30 min or so, like the voteban would usually do. If people are being banned for this now, then might as well ban people for jumping on the lights or pipes on 2fort. For camping from high places as soldier, or using the equalizer taunt with the Rocket Jumper to not die from the taunt. Just let it be, since it's popular now, should be obvious that Valve will clean it up with a patch quickly, and no one will be doing it anymore. I guarantee that the person who posted the report about me, Tele-Viper, will be doing this by tonight. Hypocritical don't you think? Reported me because I didn't teach him how. Isn't that cute? So you're saying that we should just let people cheat? The taunt exploit? That's minor. This is an exploit that can SERIOUSLY interrupt the flow of a match. I can't speak for everyone, but when I join a lotus server, I want a serious game. If I wanted to mess around, I'd head to a Mariokart server.
DeJaDeW 83 #4 Posted October 18, 2010 I didnt exploit the sentries. Your comparing jumping on the lights or pipes on 2fort. to UNLIMITED engineer build exploit?
Deadbeat 0 #5 Posted October 18, 2010 excuse me but if you watch the demo you see I was never engineer and never built any sentries. so why was I banned for something I didnt do?
Mana 3,867 #6 Posted October 19, 2010 excuse me but if you watch the demo you see I was never engineer and never built any sentries. so why was I banned for something I didnt do? OK so you burned the spies that tried to destroy them and broke their sappers... so you were helping those exploiting engineers lag the server. I'm demanding Refined metal from those who did this exploit, if you want to get unbanned, I'll do it for Reclaimed in your case.
Josh 18 #7 Posted October 19, 2010 Look at it this way, a piece of metal seems like a decent payment to remove a ban.
