Twin Frozr II 0 #1 Posted December 17, 2011 So I just got off the Lotus Clan Texas Office server, and there need's to be a ping limit. Here's the thing one of the other guys had a ping 500 to 600 which made the game not fun. I have footage of this occuring and will post only if a Offical Lotus Clan Member requests me to do so. Mana 3,867 #2 Posted December 19, 2011 There's votekick for times like this.
Brenardo 1 #3 Posted December 22, 2011 Votekicks for bad ping tend to not pass, in my experience. I think a ping limit would be nice, like 500 and up or something.
HѦZѦRĐ 14 #4 Posted December 29, 2011 i think 300 is a good limit
Brenardo 1 #5 Posted January 4, 2012 Yeah, that might be better. Even 200 is really kind of unplayable and annoying to play with, but that would probably kick too many people. 300 is where it gets to be a real problem.
HѦZѦRĐ 14 #6 Posted January 30, 2012 mines 240 max heaps of players have that ping if it gets put that there will be no players there.
Barbaro 466 #7 Posted January 30, 2012 There's votekick for times like this. That hardly ever works now and days...no offense. ._.
Nano 7,892 #8 Posted January 30, 2012 While my ping is ususally under 30, I've played at 450 before, as a spy, without issue. I say let the players decide. If it's bugging enough people, they will vote yes to kick. If it's not bugging enough people, then there is no reason to make the player leave. Really should be a case by case situation. TomSkirret 0 #10 Posted January 31, 2012 In my experience, poor ping (250+) may not affect the player with a bad connection all that much but more so the other players in the server. I've seen a lot of bad ping on the servers I play and usually it goes without complaint, but just as often it is nearly impossible to land a shot on the laggy player and people take pitty on the guy with terrible internet even if it means getting killed by someone who is single framing all over the map. A ping limit of 250 would be awesome for players who really care about the competition of the game, for casual players obviously it doesn't much matter. If votekick is meant to be a solution to this problem then a better solution is needed. If very high ping is meant to be tolerated on Lotus servers, then all is as it should be. Nano 7,892 #11 Posted January 31, 2012 Why isn't votekick a solution? If enough people are annoyed, the person is kicked from the game. Seems reasonable to me.
IceSage 58 #12 Posted February 3, 2012 We votekick for high ping on Arena all the time. Usually anything 300+ is when the votes start rolling in. Sometimes people just have horrible ping, and sometimes ping spikes. I hate servers that kick you for a high ping, because quite honestly, sometimes that happens VERY RARELY and only for about... maybe 5 seconds, and I'll be kicked. It's usually the receiving server's fault for it too.
Shiny Charizard 451 #13 Posted February 3, 2012 My problem with an auto kick is this. I have a roommate and when he gets home and connects I get a ping spike of 500-700 for about 5ish seconds. Even though I don't have high ping I'd be fundamentally booted because of said spike.

Barbaro 466 #15 Posted February 5, 2012 Ping spikes are a bitch Ur face is. My problem with an auto kick is this. I have a roommate and when he gets home and connects I get a ping spike of 500-700 for about 5ish seconds. Even though I don't have high ping I'd be fundamentally booted because of said spike. LOL. I have a strong net but sometimes my brother gets on I think Quake or something and without warning, my nice ping of 5 goes up to 870. Since there's only so little CS:S Lotus servers, maybe either open up in a different location, or not put a fliter. People from far away seem to not mind the lag, probably the Quality of Lotus is what makes them connect regardless.
