Suggestion: Ping Kick

Hey, i've seen this plugin on other servers, it stops those who have incredibly high ping. Theres a couple of people playing on the server I am on atm (2Fort UK) with about 20-30 ping, could you install a plugin which stops this? Sorry if this is the wrong section.

20-30 ping isn't high, 200+ is a high ping.

I think there should be a ping-limit, but it will be hard to actually decide what that limit should be.

When you have 500+ ping, you just can't play normal anymore, in which you also kinda obstruct other players.

But those are just my thoughts :3

20-30 is normal lol im playing with 9-15 ping on the german servers.

I really see quite some people with 400+ ping, with sometimes even jumping to 900+ >.>

Unsure. I had 900 ping once, wasn't kicked because I was donor/admin :S

But I am almost certain they have a ping kicker

Yes definitely, we do need a lower ping kick. I'd say 400. I have 300 on the odd occasion due to my router + wifi, however my gameplay is not affected drastically. It's when it reaches ~400.

I'd say 'bout 300, because I sense I can't play optimally at that ping rate, but maybe that's just my PC, me playing mainly sniper and other stuff.

We'd need to see where exactly the limit needs to be, but now it's too high anyway (assuming we have one).

Since its been 'talked' about so much and its easy to guess the outcome, I would certainly be in favor for a kicker...there's Lotus Servers through out the damn planet. Why the fuck would you connect to Texas when you're in Berlin, Germany?

Unfortunately, I'm fairly certain there's no 'redirect' for high-pingers into a closer server to their location. 2/3rds of the TF2 Community is much too stupid for that. Less than half actually acquire and start to enjoy specific communities enough to research and track all their servers.

Even less go the extra mine to participate in the community outside the Servers. *Like moi! :3*

But there's a bright side...a good one actually.

High-Pingers tend to come in boatloads. I've seen this happen at HighTower Texas and Stock Maps. Its pretty hilarious shooting Heavies that are warping across the map or simply stand there after walking a few feet. Levels up them weapons that are a pain in the ass to AND it keeps the Bots *Mana...Gotcha...Afro...BBS* from joining. It also provides reputation and advertisement for other people due to Lotus having leniency where other servers have Bans about 2/3rds of the players that connect.

Doesn't take long though, for the sun to set on those high-pingers and they GTFO. Then come the true mean-green noob-killing ass-pounding rocket-spamming turd smacking killing machines and the locals. And this happens when people are usually getting home from work, school, etc.

So all in all, I'm now against it. Another reason would be if it was, it would be pretty....depressing having a 500 points score on the lists of the sever, losing it because my internet derps and sending my 10 ping to 1000.

I'm also against this, mainly because sometimes my ping will randomly spike and for some reason it likes to bounce between 300-600 when I first join a server for the first 5 minutes so I just casually hang around inside of my team's base before it goes back to normal.

The ping is also hit and miss with some, some people can actually have a high ping but still be able to play. Unless they are actually causing a problem then I would put in a votekick, but I would not want to be autokicked. Who knows the players with high ping can just go engy...

Sorry dumbass poster, but if you look at your ping and compare it to other ping, you can determine where they are from. While I donate to Lotusclan, I haven't figurted out how to kick to +300 pingers i've had to play with. Maybe you should just move to another server insteading of bitching about things you can't control. I hope you don't have kids yet.
