32 Player De-list Bypass File - Linux And Windows!

Recommended Posts

Great work!

Can someone host the sever.dll somewhere else? The current download link don't work.

to http://www.divshare.com/ maybe.

You do not need a modified server.dll file. Just use the limit remover plugin with the engine.dll file that way comes update all you need to do is update the server and upload the hacked engine.dll file.

Our server is almost all the time full i though just to put the server.dll there would be faster. OP install prolly gives bigger server downtime because i have to learn/configure it ;)

Server downtime = how long it takes to upload the engine file.

Everything else can be done previously, whilst the server is live.

Gavin.

The linux version isn't going all that well.

I got it to the point where it does not say "Server is out of date" in the console but it still does not want to appear in the master server... I guess I'm missing something :(.

I will, however keep on trying, at least for now.

actually you can just rename dlls and restart the server instantly.

for example:

(with server running)

rename server.dll to server.dll orig

rename engine.dll to engine.dll orig

upload server.dll

upload engine.dll

restart server

result: zero downtime

hey guys, new to the forums here but excellent work on this workaround (if only i can get it to work LOL).

I did everything in the directions, and we are using this: http://bugs.alliedmods.net/index.php?do=de...amp;task_id=889 for our "25th slot always free so admins can get in" type of deal. our server provider unlocked the engine.dll so we could upload the new one, and said he added the +maxplayer 25 command to the server startup exe

now, last night when i did this - the server went from the 23 slots is used to be up to 24 and i thought we had gotten it to work. i also saw what i believe was a spray in the server for the first time ever (dunno if these cracks had anything to do with that or not but i assume so). anyways, this morning its back to 23 slots and i have no idea why.

can anyone verify that this still works right for them and we all didnt just get bamboozled by valve?

*edit* btw i would be more than happy to give someone ftp access to look at how we have things setup if someone wants to verify installation for me - it would be GREATLY appreciated. also FWIW i just looked at HLSW and while it was changing maps the server size went back up to 24 and as soon as new map loaded it went back to 23.

Now, go join your server type in "status" in console and see how many maxplayers it says.

Also did you use the playerlimit remover plugin or the cracked dll?

Because the way I see it there are 3 possible ways it might not in your case:

1) You did not install either the player limit remover plugin or the cracked server.dll (It's one or the other, not both)

2) Your host did not actually add +maxplayers 25 to the command line

3) You fail at setting up private slots :P

How many slots does it say After "status"? :)

Yup that's pretty much what i've been doing. Update First let the server go up and people play while I update the local install, make the hack and test it. Then just replace the files and do a "quit" and it's back up as a 32 slotter :).

things like that have happened to me and half the time it turned out to be human error:

another person had ftp access and messed things up while trying to do something

accidentally copied over the cracked file with the real file

application crashed and reverted to last saved settings, e.g. changing the startup command line

so don't forget to double check everything

status says 24 slots (in HLSW, which is where i checked it)

i used the player remover plugin dll file (plr.dll), which i placed in the tf2/bin folder

i put the playerlimit.vdf file in the tf2/addons folder

i replaced the default engine.dll (over 3mb) with the new one (1.34 mb)

in the server.cfg file, i added the line sv_visiblemaxplayers 24 right with the rest of the "General HL Cvars"

our server provider said "I've changed your command line to 25 players now." which should mean the server startup.exe right?

again, if anyone cares to take a look at our settings please hit me up. my xfire is my77stang and im usually in front of the computer since i work AND play on it.

Thanks again for all your help.

As I said check by typing status in the server itself. From what I can tell either your host did not change it or you did not restart the server after they did.

Suffice it to say there is only one way to find out, restart the server and go check by typing status in the console while connected to the server.

server was most certainly restarted, as i had to stop it in order to copy the engine.dll file over. I just jumped in now and checked the status from in-game, it says 24 players.

i guess i need to look at the command line once again?!?!

here is the file that i believe starts the server (we do it via web panel so this is my best guess) i have no idea how to look and see if its modified properly, if you can take a look it would be most helpful.

It's not in the file. But rather in the starting command line.

the file is called

srcds.exe and is started with command line parameters. For example:

srcds.exe -console +maxplayers 25

You have to ask your host again because apparently they didn't do it.

I sent another email to our server provider (Nuclear Fallout) and here is what he told me

Shane:

The command line is correct since I changed it for you before. The full contents of it is:

-game tf -ip 66.150.214.81 -maxplayers 25 -debug -console -nocrashdialog -tickrate 100

"-maxplayers" is the preferred form over "+maxplayers" (which didn't work in earlier server versions). The "-tickrate 100" part isn't necessary right now because unfortunately Valve limited the game to 66 tick in a recent release.

Thanks,

John

I tried using last week's haxed engine.dll and it worked, server was listed just fine. As for modified server.dll its at www.cgc-online.net/_download/tf2_32p_v13.zip

Yeah apparently the engine itself was updated but the old one works just as well.... Will update the first post with the info soon :).

And try to work on the new version so that everything is 100% updated.

i've been using the remover plugin, should i be using the server.dll instead or both of them?

Limit Remover works fine, you should not use both. And yes it's supposed to be +maxplayers 25, made a typo.

I have updated the engine file for today's (October 31st) update. I suggest everyone to use the new file because it includes much more functions which I believe enhance something... Heh... Yeah, I mean the increase in file size is probably there for a reason.

Thank you for your hard work! Everything works great. It's too bad that valve refuses to allow 32 player servers officially.

As long as they let the un-official way work... It's good. Let's hope they don't change their mind. I mean it's been fine for 3 updates now and lets hope it stays that way!
