(3rd forum post ever) Hello this is KABUTO I have played on the arena lotus server on and off for about 4 years at least. I am considerably active on the arena server lately. I think the server would have alot to bennifit from having no random crits and no random spread. Considering the large amount of players complain about them. In my opinion it takes most of the skill away from major kills. Based on a good placed random crit important classes like medic and what whoever hes healing goes down in a hit. Making the other team set up for victory. Also there are usualy one medic two at most because everyone is trying to be a killing class. So thats one shot making a win for a team, and unless the medics are overhealed something vicous the crit could take them both down, and like I said before there is a lot of competitive players that would prolly come in more often, but having random crits can change there gameplay. With crits on a player cant take as many risks, for you have to always be prepared for that shot that is going to end your day. I could see there being a reason for crits on pay loads and stuff like that with a mass amount of players respawning and making a meat wall, but there is no respawn for arena so I think them being off would make more of a fair fight. Not to mention Firstblood is at least somthing players can try to avoid easier. Although I once played shotgun heavy where a dead ringer gave me firstblood like 5 rounds in a row. Which can take out half of a team, but people can deal with that as with random crits on a mini gun/flamethrower seem like a free krits kreig. Even crits on a syinge gun can be extreamly OP, yet there is already a limited amount of players that constantly decrease and the ones who die get to watch the survivors maybe learn something. A good player could be on a roll the get laid out by a crit. Kinda a killjoy for the players and everyone watching. The only one who would really be proud of that is someone trolling in attempt to piss off the person he killed, but he and everyone else knows how much skill a crit requires. Point I am trying to make is theres alot of regulars that would enjoy the gameplay change and I doubt the cannon fodder will no the difference. I do not think we are really asking for much. I mean even having the option to vote it would be a nice improvement because like some other admins said about voting for maps. If people dont like it they can skip it, or vote somthing else, but that would be a compromise at best. people will still wannt crits off. If any regulars disagree let me know, I am going to start a group called CRITICAL FAIL to see how many are for the idea of having them off besides the few dozen I have already talked to over this.

You know, what you say doesn't actually reflect upon what is happening on the server. I see it full several times.

I doubt anyone's shitting over anyone's faces...(I hope, someone on here says he's into scat) but this topic's been brought up before and its already been decided, searching the forums would help.

Well maybe if you look at the server right now its completely empty on a friday. There is 3/24 players 3 of wich are bots. Looks pretty alive to me.

If the deciscion was already decided then why did mana say if more people brought this subject to his attention he might change his mind. (I read this from the forum with Ice Sage yada yada.)

Also even if you did turn crits off fix spread I wouldnt play in your server based on how the people representing lotus deal with dedicated regulars who have been playing over 4 somthing years possibly more on the arena server and cant even give a seriouse responce. Only way I would ever play on lotus arena again is if u turned off random crits, random spread, and first blood. Which is impossible feat for you guys to even comprehend.

And then you ask me to donate for a MGE server lmao get real.

I keep repeating this. We had a no crit Arena server. It died. Crit Arena gets full everyday.

We had a no crit rotation server, it died as well. Came back as a crit server, gets full everyday.

People like crits. If you say they don't then go play on our no crit Arena server which clearly didn't die because it was so popular.

FYI: The "4 Year long" players already debated it, I'm no where near even a quarter of time spent on Lotus, so your theory of representation is so off, I'm seeing the remains of something that was once a person.

Players would notice the difference, Lotus would tell the difference, Players will hang Mana and eat him alive. TF2 would notice the difference, it would be booted from QuickPlay (Even though it doesn't qualify due to Arena, I've seen different.). Steam would notice the difference, the no crit tag would be on, TF2 filters would notice.

A LOT of people would notice. If you're that desperate for a No Crit server, then why don't you just GET one? http://www.gameservers.com/?ref=1648415]GameServers, for your gaming needs. Or better yet, learn to deal with it, handle it, and live with it.

Of course there's a third option of simply ceasing all usage of Lotus Servers.
